Re: TrueHD: 0 Audio Channels
1.17.4 and ffmpeg v6 (latest stable) or the prior stable ffmpeg 5.1.2 does not work, either, with the same issue that TrueHD channels show as 0. makemkv 1.17.1 worked with ffmpeg 5.1.2 but 1.17.2, 1.17.3, and 1.17.4 have not worked with ffmpeg 5.1.2 so I'm thinking this is a bug in linux makemkv cod...

Re: Anastasia error LIBMKV_TRACE Error in p->FetchFrames(2,true)
On inspection this is a BD+ disc and this wasn't detected by MakeMKV. As part of my backup strategy I remove bus encryption with MakeMKV (makemkvcon backup disc:/dev/sr0), grab the discatt.dat file, and then ddrescue the disk. Mounting that ISO with the discatt.dat file and opening it in MakeMKV doe...

[Solved] Anastasia error LIBMKV_TRACE Error in p->FetchFrames(2,true) on BD+ title
The main movie title in Anastasia (1997) BluRay (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Anastasia-Blu-ray/129468/), title 11, does not rip on the 1.17.## versions of MakeMKV with a LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error in p->FetchFrames(2,true) error. This happens on Windows and Linux. The disc reads successfully ...

Re: Possible to downgrade Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD from 1.02 to 1.01?
The 1.0.2 upgrade was done when that firmware was released months ago after others confirmed no issue, unfortunately. 1.0.2 doesn't prevent the drive from working, it just complicates my backup procedure and limits the usefulness of the drive for the way I use it. Thank you for the link to that disc...

Possible to downgrade Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD from 1.02 to 1.01?
After the upgrade from 1.01 to 1.02 every once in a blue moon, before LibreDrive is loaded, certain 4k discs will always give the following errors upon reading that did not happen on firmware version 1.01: Linux dmesg output when a disc is inserted: [Wed Mar 29 16:24:58 2023] sr 6:0:0:0: [sr1] tag#0...

Re: MakeMKV 1.17.3, Debian 11, FFMPEG 4.3.5, VLC Playback Distortion
I've just encountered this with Anastasia (1997) which is h264 video / DTS audio, but this is from an ISO backup streaming from a HDD and not the optical disk, so that "layer" doesn't appear to be the problem - maybe its during the decryption process as it is an encrypted ISO and not a dec...

Is the codec on the BluRay the VC1 codec? If so many hardware decoders do a poor job decoding VC1 which can result in artifacts.
You can try disabling hardware decoding in VLC and replaying the file to see if that makes a difference.

Re: [Updated & Workaround] TrueHD 7.1 Not Playing in Plex From 4K Rips
I can confirm this is still broken on Linux on 1.17.3 using the latest stable FFMPEG 5.1.2. Downgrading ffmpeg from the last few stable versions does not help, but going back down two MakemKV versions to 1.17.1 resolves the problem, but I have to run it in Flatpak since 1.17.1 is broken with the new...
