Re: makemkv 1.17.7

stevenm56 wrote: "Whatever the issue I installed the older version with the same result." So it's not 1.17.7. Maybe try just copying individual titles. Sometimes DVD's print defective titles to hinder copying. It would be hard to squeeze more than three 45 minute titles on a DVD. Without ...

Re: makemkv 1.17.7

Here's the latest log file. I didn't past the entire file as it's huge. However, I erased the old one and started ripping a disk I knew would stall. I am able to rip the disk by first copying the video directory to the hard drive and ripping from there. Also, thinking it might be the DVD reader I pu...

Re: makemkv 1.17.7

An update. I decided to purchase another DVD Blu-ray drive to see if that's the issue. However, it's not any better. I've having to copy the dvd to the hard drive in order for it to rip the files. Nothing has changed on the pc and I turned off all antivirus. I even let Makemkv run overnight to see i...

makemkv 1.17.7

I've been using MakeMKV for many years and haven't had any issues. I just started using version 1.17.7 and notice it taking longer to create episodes. The "Saving To MKV File" seems to pause, sometimes the time remaining goes up instead of down. Is there something I can do to improve this ...

Re: Makemkv Eurkeka 4,5 dvd problem.

Thank you d00zah. Right now, I'm letting it run its course through disk 2 of season 4.5. If it works, I'll try the others. My only issue now is figuring out what episode is what file. FileBot figured out what I already had on the nas and renamed them to plex's format. but is giving conflicting resul...

Makemkv Eurkeka 4,5 dvd problem.

Several years ago, I used Makemkv to rip the Eureka dvd set to my synology for plex. Recently I noticed season 4.5 is missing so I attempted to rip it. However, it's throwing errors. I looked through the forum and found similar issues saying it was signs of a bad disk. I just got a new copy of seaso...

corupt or invalid file

I've been using a registered copy of MakeMKV to put all my dvd/blurays to my Synology nas. All has been fine until today. I was copying "Bicentennial man," and got the following error. The source file '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_03_1.VOB' is corrupt or invalid at offset 73728, attempting to work around...

which file

I've been using MakeMKV, "registered," for about a year and I'm probably going to get yelled at. However, I usually just rip one file, "the movie," and not all of the other files. I'm doing one now that has three 37.5gb files, is there a way to tell which one is the actual movie?...

Re: MKV versus handbrake

i mean you dont really need to shrink a dvd any more they are so small just use makemkv without handbreak 18 TB HDDs are at $12 a TB when they are on a good deal. i would rather the original quality and take up more space. I definitely have enough space at 40tb. Same here with quality. Thank you!!!!

MKV versus handbrake

I've been ripping DVDs for a little while using Makemkv and then handbrake. In handbrake what is the best preset to use for say Top gun Maverick.

Also is it an advantage to use handbrake over just using Makemkv. TIA

Noob!

aspect ratio

Good evening hope all is well. I just got my Plex setup going again. I had left these files mkv's and placed them into my /video folder, added the folder as a library to Plex. Some things I noticed, the viewing aspect ratio isnt the same as the dvd. One particular video will play full screen/wide sc...

Re: New to makemkv

Thank you, Woodstock, and Dcoke. I should have said I'm running it on a Synology DS920 which supports hardware encoding. I'm guessing mkv is the way to go. Luckily, I kept both versions.
