Re: Reading Dolby Vision FEL/MEL Layer
https://imgur.com/a/eQOSQo5 Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like MediaInfo is showing that the main stream size for the video is 48.6gb which says is making up 93% of the total video stream. So that means the EL layer is the other 7% and thus this is a FEL stream? Wouldn't a MEL layer ...

Reading Dolby Vision FEL/MEL Layer
I have purchased both MakeMKV as well as the advanced version of MediaInfo. I’m on a Mac, so I cannot use BDInfo. I was wondering if either of these pieces of software could tell me the break down of Dolby Vision streams so I could find out the size of the enhancement layer to determine if it’s FEL ...

Re: Rip Menu/Access Menu File
Thank you so much! This was very helpful, I found the menu picture I was looking for right away. Appreciate the poster links as well. A lot of times the background art is harder to find due to how the Zidoo menus are laid out and the way the art needs to fit. I have several resources now, thanks aga...

Rip Menu/Access Menu File
This post is mostly in regards to 4K discs, but also applies to regular 1080p Blu Rays as well. I usually don’t rip the entire disc but rather just the main movie and language/subtitle options for high quality playback on my Zidoo media player. I sometimes have a hard time finding high res posters/b...

Re: Not sure if this is the disk? Or decrypt? Or hardware! Martial Law 2 4k (German media book orange cover)
I just exchanged for a brand new disc and I’m getting the exact same type of errors at the exact same spot. I think this might have more to do with the mastering process or the type of disc than just a disc being dirty. The new disc I got is absolutely flawless with not a mark anywhere in sight. I h...

Re: Not sure if this is the disk? Or decrypt? Or hardware! Martial Law 2 4k (German media book orange cover)
I just had this happen with my brand new UHD disc of The Fugitive. Doesn't appear to be dirty or scratched but tried several times with the same errors at the same spot. Guess I have to get a replacement from Best Buy. What a bummer. I'm 0 for 2 on recent Harrison Ford UHD discs. Witness won't rip c...

Re: Witness 4K Timecode Issues?
OK - so the profile 8 version seems to play fine. I did check 8:40 where the first timecode error popped up and there was no flashing. If you could point out a specific scene or time where there were problems I will double check. However when I remuxed everything, MKVToolNix dropped the forced subt...

Re: Witness 4K Timecode Issues?
Just got my copy today - doing a backup and will try the profile 8 conversion (fixed the EL issues on Saving Private Ryan with my Zidoo. Will advise tomorrow how it went. Worst case is to discard the DV EL and just create an HDR10 version. Let me know if you are able to get it working. I'm on a Mac...

Re: Witness 4K Timecode Issues?
The disc has authoring issues. It seems the timestamps in the m2ts are different for both tracks, but the underlying bitstreams have the same timestamps. So when MakeMKV remuxes, it uses/copies the container TS which are wrong. You can get broken timestamps by remuxing the m2ts with MKVToolNix as w...

Re: Witness 4K Timecode Issues?
The MakeMKV FAQ as an entry about AV Sync Errors. I don't have that disc, so I'm just speculating, but I wonder if that disc has some kind of mastering issue from the factory? Hmm, so am I to understand that the kind of errors I’m getting on this disc is due to the disc itself then? I’ve seen those...
