Re: DVD loses last half of chapters
Have you tried just copying the disc contents onto your PC? If it does copy and isn't encrypted maybe you will be able to extract meaningful files through other means.

Re: VERBATIM Ultra HD 4K - Will this work?
If you research other threads you will see that there is a question mark against this drive. There is statistical evidence that this drive has a high failure rate compared to others and for that reason is no longer available through key sellers represented on this site. I bought this drive before th...
Kodi 21
I started my Nvidia Shield Pro on Saturday morning and Kodi had updated to Kodi 21 (I don’t download beta versions so this is the official release). My uncompressed files with Dolby Vision (courtesy of MakeMkv) now display the “Dolby Vision” indication on my LG tv, something it hadn’t done before. I...

Re: having trouble merging 2 disc movie and need some help.
I merged LOTR using mkvtoolnix so I know that it can be done.

Re: Read SACD
Another vote for SACD support. Currently the only mainstream supplier of players at a reasonable price is Sony which includes it in their Blu-ray players. It is more likely that they, as have LG and Samsung, will pull out of this market. There are alternative SACD only players on the market but they...

Re: Still unsure about a few things...
It is inevitable that we cannot control the firmware on newly purchased drives unless we use specialist resellers. Given the current”evolution” of firmware on Pioneer drives this is particularly pertinent. I can’t say that I’m enthused by Verbatim using the same model designation for drives with a c...

Re: Still unsure about a few things...
I bought my Verbatim in April 2023 but there is no indication on the casing of a manufacturing date. It has performed very well as an alternative to my internal BD-RE WH14NS40 drive. Given that my usual approach is to procastinate until thngs are no longer available or effectively over, I think that...

Keep trying the disc. It will not be immediate.

Re: Harry Potter 8 movie Collection 4K Discs
DTS seems or be unloved audio codec despite its high presence on discs.(LG did stop supporting DTS on some TVs - you can get round this by attaching your playback device to the soundbar if you have one). It can therefore be a hardware problem in the chain rather than just a matter of software. Durin...

Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny soundtracks
I’ve successfully ripped this disc but I noticed a strange anomaly in the soundtrack. The film starts at the opening credits with a ticking sound but if I switch to the non-DTS soundtracks the sound doesn’t kick in until 45 seconds into the film. This happens both on UHD and Blu-ray. Is it just me? E...

Re: Oppenheimer (2023)
Currently ripping 3CB4, but got 1 HashCheck Error when it was loading up the disc, relating to 00441.m2ts. Not sure if that will cause problems, but I’m at 75% without further issues. I ripped fine and got the following message when it assessed the disc: Title #00441.m2ts has length of 7 seconds wh...

Re: Hard coded subtitles query and issue on 'The Mummy' BluRay
I appreciate that this is an oldish thread but I’m posting this to give an alternative solution to that posted previously. I have just re-ripped this film and discovered this missing sub-title problem that I hadn’t previously realised. My boxset came bundled with a UHD and Blu-ray Disc so I ripped t...

Re: NCIS Season 20 DVDs disks won't rip
I'm pretty sure that I had problems ripping this with my LG drive too. I did manage to recover more episodes after cleaning and repeated attempts. My external Pioneer-based drive didn't have a problem though.
