Re: Can somebody recommend AI upscaling program?

I have a lot of tv series with poor quality video (and audio). Can somebody recommend a program for upscaling these videos? My requirements would be: 1. Must work as a batch program, working on multiple mkv/mp4 /webm files without user interaction. 2. Preferrably, it should also upscale the audio, ...

Re: Computer Going To Sleep

Is there a setting in MAKEMKV program to keep computer awake while ripping a disc? I know I can disable all that in windows 11, I would still like computer to power down and go to sleep when not being used for this purpose. I turn off all the sleep settings and schedule a shutdown or I use handbrak...

Re: Ripping subtitles to srt file

SRT is a text format file. Subtitles on a Bluray or 4K BD are a graphic format (almost universally), so you need to do a graphic-to-text conversion (the OCR step Dukefleed mentions). That is the most troublesome part, because the text recognition isn't 100%, especially when dealing with fancy text....

Re: Issued with mkv and handbrake

The most important thing is: What is your playback device? If you still run those files from a burned disc you should check DVDFab or CloneBD to shrink preserving DoVi. And rip to ISO or folder not to MKV. Both need to be purchased. I myself just rip to ISO and play it with an Oppo clone M9702. The...

Re: Issued with mkv and handbrake

Firstly my tv supports Dolby vision if I play the pure rip in kodi it pops up to confirm that Dolby vision video file is playing. If I compress using 4k Mkv setting it won’t preserve the Dolby vision, However today I learned that it you select the HQ 4k Hvec x265 and select AC3 as the audio it will ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Are there any one click programs that’s don’t involve command line to compress 4k Dolby vision mkv files and preserve the Dolby vision? Handbreak claims to support it but will only convert it to hdr 10bit. If not is there a way to drink them down to db50 or bd25 blank media for backup without losing...

You are very welcome! You have now one of the best drives. The 13s look nicer but don't perform better and are much more expensive.
Yes, I was also looking at the pioneer external ones and they are expensive and the only feature I could see that I gained was a feature to read scratched discs better

Thank you ☺️ if you every need someone to recommend or vouch I can highly recommend you
We tested the 11 vs 12 vs 13 drives and couldn't see any advantages of the newer drives regarding ripping or burning. This market is steeply declining and Pioneer comes up with a lot of yaddayadda and raises prices. Don't believe what you read unless it's proven.
I’m sticking with this Asus drive, the lg 4k drive I have takes 5 mins to load a 4k disk to even show it as visible and it’s slow and loud, the Asus I put a movie in and instantly it pops up in windows ready to read and it’s so silent. Mine is from 2020 and yeah to guess they don’t make them like they used to, I might pick up a second one used as a backup and sell in LG. The lg has had many coasters when writing blank media and it’s loud and obnoxious.

Issued with mkv and handbrake

I rip the 4k uhd with Makemkv , I open the mkv in and it says profile is Dolby vision 7 I then select HVEC 10bit and no mater what I do it strips the Dolby vision and outposts standard hdr10 and the video results are darker with weird colours. I’m just trying to preserve the Dolby vision however I c...

Re: Makemkv is useless

I tried troubleshooting, disabling firewall, AV, adding exceptions, reinstalling Makemkv I think I’m running out of options If your internet provider is actively blocking your connection to the server which provides keys to MakeMKV, nothing you listed will actually help address the issue. It doesn'...

I suspect new "Coraline" disks have recently been released.
I have the latest steelbook version and it rips just fine, maybe different countries may not have been decrypted but uk and USA have been

Re: Makemkv is useless

I agree. The software is now where you A) have to be using a VPN in the United States to even download the new keys when the dump files are decrypted and B) you have to wait up to three weeks for a new 4K UHD Blu-ray to be able to be ripped. However, I can only imagine that what Mike does can't be ...

No it will not. It has now all capabilities you hadn't before.
Thank you I am glad we could get this working
I’d rather use this drive that is basically silent
it’s ripping at 4x speed and not even a sound is it making

So far so good it said flash successful, it can open spectre 4k

Question? Will it impact the bluray writing capabilities at all? Can I still write BDXL & Mdiscs?

Thank you ☺️

Re: Makemkv is useless

Sounds like he is talking about sending dumps for new UltraHD discs and having to wait for the keys to be added. I agree the system is flawed, but it's the only option we have for ripping UHDs at the moment, so it is what it is. I agree. The software is now where you A) have to be using a VPN in th...
