Re: LG BP60NB10 vs LG WH16NS40 + Vantec NexStar DX2
Yeah, I'll probably do little to no burning too. So basically outside of buying from someone in the forum*, my best option is BDR-212V (which is only "UHD friendly") + Vantec NexStar DX2? Is there another Pioneer or other recommended drive that I can buy from regular retailers? *Basically ...

Re: LG BP60NB10 vs LG WH16NS40 + Vantec NexStar DX2
So basically Pioneer "UHD friendly" drives read UHD bluray discs more reliably than LG Official UHD drives? That sounds insane. yes pioneers are way better at reading hard to read disc but you would never know unless you also have an lg/asus that would struggle with it Do you mean...

LG BP60NB10 vs BU40N
Hi. LG BP60NB10 vs BU40N (external): Is one of them preferred over the other? Also, I understand that a few different external models have the BU40N inside them: Archgon MD-8107S-U3-UHD, Verbatim 43888, etc. - they are all the basically same, right? Or is one of them preferred over the others again?...

Re: Verbatim 43888 is BU40N drive from Amazon US
Can you please share the Amazon link?
Also, you wrote that you were hoping to get one with Pioneer hardware, but if you did, wouldn't you have an issue with the new Pioneer firmware?
Thanks.

Re: LG BP60NB10 vs LG WH16NS40 + Vantec NexStar DX2
The lower end Pioneer drives (such as BDR-212V and Verbatim 43890) can still be sourced in stores Do you mean that if I manage to buy one of these then I'm good? Or do you mean that I also have to be lucky enough to end up with one that has an old FW, and that I might get a higher FW and be complet...

Re: LG BP60NB10 vs LG WH16NS40 + Vantec NexStar DX2
Both suck but if you must, then the BP60NB10 is more reliable and even though the rip speed is 6x max vs 8x max for the NS40, it does mantain that 6x speed for longer, whereas the NS40 may reach 6x-8x in spurts but the majority of a rip is generally 4x-6x. Can you please elaborate why both suck? Th...

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
It's been over two years - is the status still the same? Do you still think this will eventually be dealt with?mike admin wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 4:22 pmThis will eventually be dealt with. The ETA, whether drive flashing would be required, and the flashing process are yet unknown. We are working as fast as we can.
Thanks.

LG BP60NB10 vs LG WH16NS40 + Vantec NexStar DX2
Hi. What are the pros/cons of getting an LG BP60NB10 (UHD Official External Slim 9.5mm USB 2.0 | Rip speed 6x BD 66 ~45 mins BD 100 ~1 hour 5mins) vs LG WH16NS40 (UHD Friendly Internal 5.25 sata | Rip speed 8x BD 66 ~45 mins BD 100 ~1 hour if flashed properly) + Vantec NexStar DX2 USB3 enclosure ?
