Re: DVD & chapter stutter

Mike, have to say, you are a bit of a genius! Yes, I was experiencing this from the MakeMKV and handbrake files, both exhibited the same behaviour. I took the MKV generated from MakeMKV, demuxed with mkvextract and then merged again with mmg. The only output I got from mmg was: Warning: Found one or...

Re: DVD & chapter stutter

Hi Mike Thanks for the reply, I can appreciate that it is difficult to diagnose without the actual raw data. It also happens that it stutters at every chapter marker, not just the example I had picked out, is that consistent with layer switches? Is it likely that the dvd would be mastered to switch ...

Re: DVD & chapter stutter

I have rechecked the information in the chapters, and I'm not convinced that it is a chapter problem per-se but it appears to be some kind of timing issue for sure. According to lsdvd, chapter 4 should start at 00:35:49, where the makemkv output suggests that chapter 6 should start at 00:35:54 (whic...

Re: DVD & chapter stutter

Using vlc and ubuntu shipped movie player i can observe the stutter, always in the same spot. I also use a WDTV and this exhibits exactly the same behaviour. I have just noticed that vlc actually has a problem playing back the DVD on that specific point in the movie where the ubuntu movie player wor...

Re: Pauses in MKV Playback

I think we are having the same problem (see http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3613 ) I've verified that other programs such as dvd::rip (linux) and dvd decryptor (windows) both behave correctly and create an output file without pauses. Edit: dvd decryptor actually does have a pau...

Re: DVD & chapter stutter

thanks for the reply Running on a Xeon quad (W3580) on 12gb mem running ubuntu 64bit (11.04) Just to be specific, this is not actually around playback or streaming, this is actually to do with the ripping process itself. I am able to play the feature back perfectly well on the DVD (Bad Company in th...

DVD & chapter stutter

Guys Love the product, has much simplified the problem challenge around converting my DVD collection and am particularly keen on the mkv format. However, I have a problem, the mkv's created, have all of the attributes, subtitles, the works, even the chapters. I have noticed on movies (Bad Company - ...

Re: makemkv

Running on XP (32) with a core 2 quad EE and a combination of dvd and bd drives. Do you have any UDF driver installed? If yes, what is the driver name? I use AnyDVD because I have a mix of Region 1 & Region 2 disks, Im going to guess that I don't have a specific UDF driver installed over and ab...

Re: makemkv

Hi, I agree, I've just downgraded to 1.6.3 as I wasn't able to get anything about 1X where I was getting over 10X previously. In contrast, I now have dual drives ripping at 4.9X at the same time on 1.6.3. There was nothing obvious in the task manager even looking at consumed memory, IO reads/writes ...
