MakeMKV is unable to rip a handful of Doctor Who DVDs my wife has. Neither via the standard rip process nor backing it up to ISO. I was able to work around this by making a backup of the DVD and then mounting the ISO and having Handbrake read from the virtual drive.

This isn't abnormal depending on how the disc was mastered. Some of my discs broke out each episode to a file. Others one big file. Unfortunately I have turned every nob in makeMKV to no avail. Even ripped the DVD to an ISO and mounted it to a virtual drive. MakeMKV just failed faster.

I tried making an ISO of the DVD with another utility. I mounted the ISO file and then tried again in MakeMKV, but got the same problem. It just failed more quickly when "analyzing seamless segments."

Interesting. Manually setting the protection removal to "CellFull" instead of auto fixed the problem. It is showing me the full contents now.
