Re: MakeMKV resetting dvd drive region code
I have had this happen to me as well and I'm on MacOS. Not sure whether it's a bug in MMKV but it does concern me. I now use different drives for R1 and R2 DVDs.

New Pioneer BDR-X13J-X external Drive...
There seems to be a new top of the line drive from Pioneer for the Japanese market... The BDR-X13J-X... Even if it's only a BDR-S13J-X in an external casing... Good on them for continuing to release new products in this day and age: https://www.cdrinfo.com/d7/content/pioneer-japan-announces-new-bdr-...

Re: Running multiple instance of MakeMKV
You can enable "Single drive mode" by checking the box, "Ask for singe drive mode" on the IO section of preferences. That will turn on asking any time more than one drive is detected... Which would only be when you have more than one drive plugged in. Only one drive? You won't b...

Running multiple instance of MakeMKV
I've read on here that there are quite a few people running a number of MMKV instances at the same time using multiple drives. I would be able to do this only via a USB hub as I don't have enough free ports on my Mac. Provided the hub supplies enough power, is there a downside to not connecting the ...

Re: Pioneer BDR-S13E-X on Mac
The Pioneer BDR-S13E-X mentions Windows because the Cyberlink software it comes with requires Windows. The drive itself should work just fine on a Mac. I have both a Pioneer BDR-S13UBK and a Pioneer BDR-212UBK in external enclosures that work fine with my Mac. The Cyberlink software doesn't work, o...

Pioneer BDR-S13E-X on Mac
I was wondering whether anyone is using the BDR-S13E-X under MacOS in an external case?
The Pioneer website only mentions Windows compatibility...
Thanks, guys!!

Re: Direct Blu Ray playback with VLC
I just saw this post and I had hope. Alas, I removed all the existing VLC and makemkv and resinstalled them from fresh downloads. Still automatic switch off switch on was in full force. No luck. I wish it would work by re-install no luck here. I never ever got it to work despite the seemingly good ...

Re: Direct Blu Ray playback with VLC
You're right, that's very possible... I've also been thinking though that it could be an issue with MakeMKV or even with VLC... I've had other apps requesting the same permission and after I grant it, the selection remains enabled in the OS settings and doesn't toggle back. Unfortunately, trying to...

Re: Direct Blu Ray playback with VLC
Not sure if this will be helpful, but it is what I found when searching for letting applications on Sonoma access files in non-standard locations: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/change-privacy-security-settings-on-mac-mchl211c911f/mac Thank you, Woodstock!! I've given MakeMKV full disc ac...

Re: Direct Blu Ray playback with VLC
Same here too. I am on Sonoma 14.2.1. I keep giving permission when prompted but the VLC integration box will always be unticked again when I go back into the MakeMKV settings and I just cannot get it to work.
Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks, guys!!

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
im sure support will be added as its older. but you could always update to 1.01 if you don't want to wait but waiting is alot less risky My Pioneer BDR-XS07B-UHD drive with 1.00 firmware works well with DVDs and BDs, but as yet there is no LibreDrive support, so no chance of using my UHDs with it. ...

Re: Beginner Questions About Pioneer UHD Drives
We can supply you with a BDR-XS07TS Cross-Flashed to BDR-XS07TSUHD on firmware 1-02. The performance is identical to the original BDR-XS07TUHD, the only difference being is the Crypto Chip which is not a big issue with LibreDrive taking care of this and the unofficial 4K Playback. In addition the c...

Re: Beginner Questions About Pioneer UHD Drives
From what I can tell it comes with 1.01; would you draw the same conclusion? Not really. It'll just come with whatever the latest available firmware was on the day it was manufactured. I think that Pioneer usually put that date on the box but logistically it'll be tough to impossible to get this co...
