Re: Super novice question

The version I kept was 1:26:23 in terms of duration, but that was regular Bluray, not 4k. I'm guessing one is the "Japanese" version, other is ENG, and third is... I don't something else that helps sync language a bit better.

Which to keep? Depends if you are a subs or dubs person. I bet if you ...

Re: HDDVD - Main movie not detected on some discs

I keep several older versions of MakeMKV specifically for random issues with DVDs & generally the newest for Blueray. It is weird & per dvd it seems, but it is very rare I've had to roll back.

Re: Here we go again....

I've considered a purchase, but after the gross competence I've seen in completing sales, and the quite regular occurrence of one being unable to adhere to deadlines they set themselves, it really doesn't instill me with any confidence in the long term future for the product.

Part of that is an ...

Re: Playback is Choppy/Jumbled

It is very possible it is a security feature - a number of disks, especially Lion Gate ones have like 10,000 options for the movie to rip, but only ONE is the correct one.

Re: Split large file with multiple episodes into separate files?

Best way I've found to do this is with MKVnix... which might not be of much help because it is pretty hands on & goes back to doing things manually like you mentioned.

Worse - it is sometimes (always) more in depth that chapter/episode lengths, so you kinda have to skip to points & enter the ...

Re: Plex not recognizing new RIPs

This 100% seems like an issue with how permissions are setup on TrueNAS. You can try & confirm by attempting to create a .txt document - you'll get the same error confirming that it isn't related to new rips. You're showing the Datasets TAB, instead of the Shares TAB, who there are additional ...

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

Same problem here with the older version. Upgraded to the latest for Mac/OS and now, after the disc scan, the read fails due to something it can't do while downloading Hash Keys (?). I guess this is just something to do with the decryption but wanted to see if anyone else is having the same issue ...

Re: Is there a way to create a seperate mkv for each title in a disc?

Most disks that I've backedup have separate MKV files for each episode/title. It is very rare that I get a disk that just has all the episodes in a single block; in those situations I then use MKVToolNix (doesn't transcode - still full quality, still mkv file) to break into separate titles by ...

Re: Comprehension question Makemkv

You can (likely) backup blurays without special firmware, and you can (likely) flash the firmware on your drive to get both bluray & UHD disks working.

The best part is that makemkv is free & you can likely use it almost forever without paying. I purchased my copy after years of using it once I was ...

Re: Don't receive my licence key, pass 2 days ago.

Did you consider reaching out to the vendor? I remember the email being from sales@payproglobal.com & the key itself being in the 'order' email, not the 'receipt' email.

Re: I know its been asked before but ...

Basically it is a form of copy protection where they give every possible variation of the cuts of the movie, but only one is actually valid.

Usually it helps to check on the forums to search the name of the movie & see if anyone has figured out which one is correct. There are also some posts here ...

Re: issue with ripping.

Try a different random disk - if it works I'd argue bad disk. Some folks mention that even brand new out of box disks can fail and/or need a cleaning prior to ripping in the past.
