Re: issue with ripping.

Try a different random disk - if it works I'd argue bad disk. Some folks mention that even brand new out of box disks can fail and/or need a cleaning prior to ripping in the past.

Re: Why is only the audio ripped?

Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD drive (manufactured June 23, running latest firmware) Wait - latest manufacturer firmware or latest patched firmware? If manufacturer I'd recommend browsing the forum for the patched firmware & flash that instead. Also, as everyone stated the video seems to be in the file yo...

Re: Building my first Plex Server.

I suggest checking out TrueNAS forums - if you got ~4 hours to dedicate to learning, it'll give you great peace of mind in terms of data redundancy.

Re: Windows Explorer Crash

I've experienced it on two different systems with Windows 11 having file explorer hang after USING (not just launching, but doing active work on a disk). Maybe it happens after I specifically read more than 1 disk, sometimes not. It isn't guaranteed, but it is fairly consistent. Replicated with ddr4...

Re: Windows Explorer Crash

Donno if it is memory related - I remember going for many, many passes of memtest since I've setup my rig (without fail) & only makemkv does this. Mild inconvenience at worst for me to restart explorer.exe

Re: Windows Explorer Crash

I've had the same issue since forever - I usually just restart explorer.exe after using makemkv out of habit.

Re: Cutting out inappropriate scenes

mkxNIX is clutch & will guarantee you don't have to sacrifice quality or any of the subtitles, audio tracks, chapters, etc. etc. It is also great for joining movies split over multiple disks into a single file or multiple episodes glued into a single file into multiple files. If you're very para...

Re: Quick Payment processing and Key

I have experienced exactly the opposite. I purchased a key back on May 3, 2024. Order number 31338515. The payment was processed right away, but I still haven't received my key. If you have any ideas how to contact makemkv to get my key that I paid for, I would appreciated the advice. I remember so...

Re: MakeMKV, just BUY it already.....

The only thing that 'justified' the pricetag for me is that I realized I likely spend more than $60 on coffee per month, let alone alcohol. I think I'll skip the trip to the liquor store this week & support Mike instead.

Re: MakeMKV, just BUY it already.....

I'm in a similar position. We may get a new key shortly, we may not, but I get enough use of the software to make a purchase worthwhile. One thing though, my laptop might not have too much life left in it, does anyone know if a purchased key will work if I buy a new laptop in future and re-install ...

Re: MakeMKV, just BUY it already.....

After using MakeMKV for 2+ years and ripping 500+ disks/bluerays I finally bought a license. I was pretty panicked because I see like 3 posts every month about someone placing their order & not getting a key... but I'm happy to report mine came in within a few minutes. I'll count myself lucky

Ouch for $300 I'll wait on your feedback on how well it works before I consider biting the bullet on that.

Re: Ripping Blu Ray to later Upscale to 4K?

How is your upscaling process so radically different from the on-the-fly conversion offered by most playback chipsets? Having something take 9 hours per episode vs on the fly would either imply an inefficiency or more time & processing power allocated for (theoretically) better results. That wo...

Re: Translucent blu ray discs

Stupid question, but out of curiosity have you guys tried gluing a paper cutout on the back or something? Wondering if that'd be enough.
