I just flashed my LG WH16NS40 to DE_LG_WH16NS60_1.02_MK per instructions because the original firmware was encrypted. The instructions say that I can now flash to another firmware if I choose. Why would I want that? What are the benefits of a different firmware? The only version I could see that mat...

I purchased the ASUS BW-16D1X-U. Turns out it was able to read every disc my old drive could not, and is more than 50% faster. Keeping both drives for surge ripping, but very pleased with the decision to purchase a second (and different) drive.
