Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux

Okay, so I found a working 'band-aid' solution. I removed the MakeMKV package and installed the flatpak Then, I installed the flatpak for VLC, vlc.bdj,vlc.fkdaacs, and vlc.makemkv in that order. Using that configuration seems to work for playing Blu-Ray discs, at least on my system. I don't know if ...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux

So just to be clear: 1) VLC integration via LibMMBD.so doesn't work with the flatpak version of MakeMKV? 2) There still hasn't been any acknowledgement of this issue from the developer (mike)? I'm a relatively new Linux user so don't want to go messing with too much. I think downgrading my entire sy...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux

Is it possible to get VLC integration (libmmbd.so) working with the flatpack version of MakeMKV? As of now, MakeMKV has been completely unusable for over a week. I even thought about downgrading glibc, but everywhere I look warns that doing so can hose an entire system, and ominous music plays in th...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux

I suppose I'm a bit strange. I don't mind using my discs to view my media -- and I actually prefer that rather than using tons of disk space. For me, the value of MakeMKV is the ability to watch my BD discs on Linux, since every other method I tried failed miserably. Ripping the discs is an added bo...

Re: Question to all: MakeMKV without GUI, console only

As a new user, I haven't had much time to explore the features of MakeMKV yet (and now dealing with the breakage caused by glibc 2.36), but I see myself using both the GUI and console depending on the scenario. I would hate to see the GUI disappear without a really stellar reason!

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux

I don't think people just posting that they have the problem also is very helpful. I imagine Mike will get the idea at this point. In my view, it doesn't make sense to simply assume what Mike knows. I've learned that assumptions in general cause more problems than they solve. While people simply po...

Re: Best way to handle individual episodes on season Blu-Ray's

If you open the BluRay with MakeMKV, do you only see titles with the length of the episodes? Or maybe also one title which is quite longer which might contain all of the titles? Thanks for explaining. I currently can't test, due to MakeMKV breaking after the glibc 2.36 debacle . MakeMKV crashes imm...

Re: Best way to handle individual episodes on season Blu-Ray's

Is there eventually a playlist for all episodes? Quite some shows have some kind of "Play all" button in the menus. There you could see, which m2ts files the episodes are ordered in. Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Where would I find this playlist? I'm fairly new to M...

Re: Best way to handle individual episodes on season Blu-Ray's

Ripping them is an option... but it would require extra time and (a lot) of disk space.
I'd much prefer to just pop a BD in and play the episodes I want to watch like I do with the movies.

Best way to handle individual episodes on season Blu-Ray's

Hi everyone, So I am happily enjoying my movies with MakeMKV and VLC, but now I've hit a slight snag with my TV series discs. They contain four or five episodes per disc which are usually navigated using the BD menus. However as of yet I have been unable to get any menus working on Blu-Ray. Even if ...

Re: Can't play Blu-Ray discs using any software with MakeMKV

Just wanted to update this a final time to say thank you to the fine members of this forum and to the MakeMKV developers. Since switching to Linux, I thought my Blu-Ray discs were forever stuck in limbo and unwatchable. But this software works even better than the software I had on Windows and Mac -...

Re: Can't play Blu-Ray discs using any software with MakeMKV

As far as i know the only thing you need is this: Aribb24 Install it from your package manager Play a blu-ray by using open disc method in vlc Thank you! That solved the problem for me! There were two packages in my repos: Aribb24 and Aribb25. I installed both just to be safe  Just out of curi...

Can't play Blu-Ray discs using any software with MakeMKV

Hi everyone, new MakeMKV user here, and I'm sorry my first post needs to be a request for help! I've spent days searching various forums, reading the man pages, tinkering, and reinstalling packages trying to get this to work on my own. Now I turn to the MakeMKV experts here to help me get ...
