Should I watch for updates even though I have a paid license?
Should I pay attention to updates to MKV? I paid for a license/registration and it seems like its just gonna work forever now. Will I get a notice of available updates?

Well I guess that got things a little closer. Now it says Scanning CD-ROM Devices but unfortunately, it is stuck on that screen.

I put in a DVD https://thetvdb.com/series/break-it-down and MakeMKV gives a status of Loading... Please wait and gets stuck there. I'm on version 1.16.7 I can here that the disc is not even spinning anymore. I'm on Windows 10 64 bit It plays in VLC with no problem When I browse the disc I see it has...
