Re: Pioneer BDR-UD04
is it normal for the second layer to burn faster than the first with BD-R 50's?? my verbatim/pioneer UD04 took more then 1 hour (estimated) to reach 50% in Toast 20 Pro, and now it's about 15~20 minutes-ish further along at 83% burned, also it did seem to stop burning intermittently the the first 50...

Re: Samsung SE 506 info
(...) When I bought the drive it said it was capable of using bd100 discs but clearly never got that to work. (...) yeah, the Samsungs in my experience, just like the LG's, have trouble with the layer breaks on 50GB or larger BD-R discs. I wish I would've read about that earlier, as it costs me abo...

Re: Playing 4k bluray with VLC in m1 silicon mac?
can confirm on my M1 machine, with Monterey (latest) VLC (latest) and MakeMKV (latest), VLC gets as far as showing a bit of the movie studios logo intro or the fbi-style Blu-Ray anti-piracy warning screen (depending on the disc), and then a hard crash of the entire machine, by which the Mac reboots ...

Re: Issue with MakeMKV 1.16.5 on M1 Macs running macOS Monterey (needs code signing)
has this been fixed? as for me as of 1.16.6 on my M1, I have no issues at all. the applied permission for 'removable volumes' sticks from reboot to reboot, and even across MakeMKV updates, as yesterday I ran and updated it to 1.16.7, still no issues for me. Also I don't see anything odd, or that the...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
so really amazing these efforts, and such a similarity to what is being done in the minidisc field, as for that they've/we've (the minidisc aficionados) also been cracking/reverse engineering minidisc players {netmd} firmware, uploading various firmware mods and running stuff as unsigned code in vol...

Re: Pioneer BDR-UD04
Yep, according to the specs, this model's max speed for bluray is 6x and 4x for UHD. yup, I just got this drive delivered today, the verbatim slim 43888, which seems to be indeed the PIONEER BD-RW BDR-UD04 and came with firmware 1,14. makemkv at first launch immediately said that libredrive was act...
