Got the verbatim from amazon yesterday and it works perfectly, rips 4k and different region bluray. Many thanks!
Btw, it came with a cd of supporting software drivers and nero - i assume that I shouldn't touch these with a barge pole, might add region and drm checks to the drive?

Re: Where can I just buy a ready flashed external drive with a warranty?
Thanks, I’ve been looking at that and have a few concerns: 1. It appears to rely on usb power, I’ll be connecting it to a laptop, will it get enough power to work reliably? I had a slimline originally and it would drop out when running from my desktop PCs USB port. 2. Is it multi region ? No mention...

LG WH16NS60 'no disc', but DVDs read fine
My LG has done over 400 blu-ray rips, but now MKV says 'no-disc' when I put a bluray in, and Windows 11 won't recognize the bluray either. It still reads DVDs fine though. Does this mean game over and the bluray laser must have died? Or anything worth trying before I replace? I did try cleaning it w...

Where can I just buy a ready flashed external drive with a warranty?
My drive was great, but unfortunately after over 400 rips it has died, I can hear it chugging, but makemkv is saying 'no disc'.
I need to be able to rip 4k, and blurays/dvds from any region.

Re: Messed up my drive trying to flash it, won't eject, but still recognized by Windows
Thanks, model is ODP95-SU3, but as I understand it internal desktop drives are much better so I might go shopping instead - does one have to buy one of these expensive enclosures for them, or will a £6 SATA to USB 3 cable that I see on ebay do the job?

Messed up my drive trying to flash it, won't eject, but still recognized by Windows
Hi, Guilty as charged, I obviously didn't do my research before trying to flash following the guide at the top of this forum. What I'm asking is, is there any hope of fixing the drive? Or do I have to buy a new one? Drive is an unbranded external USB drive I got on amazon three years ago, amazon ad ...

What do I need to set for my TV picture settings to be available (e.g. film maker mode)
Hi, I'm trying to figure out the optimum post ripping settings for my Panasonic TV, which has some nice settings for different picture requirements: Sport, Dynamic, Normal, Custom, Cinema. With the raw makemkv output all these work, but once I've run it through handbrake even as MKV I lose these opt...
