Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3

Oh I already have my BDMV backups and it works nicely over SMB to Oppo, just dislike the interface for browsing. So I am attempting to use Emby server along their nice apps to serve a ts to Oppo. The nightly did finish the mixing without audio or subtitles. I'll try ts format too to see what works ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3

Hmm the version above isn't nightly! True, that is the last release of the original. It even does not support the HEVC stream properly. So it is just a relic. Take the one built today. Shawn’s advice to spin the iso image of the disc is even better. If your oppo can handle it. You will retain menus...

I'll try m2ts next which some users claimed success.
For me the success came specifically with tsMuxeR nightly, after simply remuxing the tracks.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3

If you look at your mediainfo screenshot of the resulting mkv file, you'll notice that video track #1 is now labeled as BL+EL+RPU instead of just BL. That's where the enhancement layer (EL) and the metadata has gone (RPU). Makemkv combines both layers (BL, EL) and the metadata onto a single video t...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3

I ripped the MKV out of Dolby UHD demo disc. Original is a classic 2-stream DoVi profile 7.6. As a result I get from makeMKV a MKV file that has a single-stream video, also tagged as DoVi profile 7.6 stream. What I do not understand is: what happened to the 2-nd video stream, that is supposed to be ...

Answering my own question - the solution was right here, around the corner: flashed the BP60NB10 1.00 Hybrid firmware to my BP55EB40 SVC: EB40

Re: Attemping to flash LG BP55EB40 on macOS

Thank you guys for the great instructions on how to flash the BP55EB40 external USB drive to a MK version 1.03 firmware. I have the exact same drive, as original poster with SVC : EB40 that was manufactured in 2017 and came with 1.00 firmware. All the upgrade went smooth, i now see 1.03 displayed an...

Re: Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?

I can see both layers (HDR10 + DV) if I use MKVToolNix. MakeMKV can only see HDR10. Look again, it says 1080p not anywhere specifying dolby vision or HDR10 there so I don't know what your screenshot is supposed to show us. Yep. The DoVi enhancement layer for UHD is 1/4 of the frame size, ie 1920x10...

Re: UHD drives

Hi all!

What is wrong with the LG BP55EB40 BDXL-writer?
It can not read any UHD disc, however is supposed to be BDXL compatible.
Mine says
SVC code: EB40
ROM VER: 1.0

Re: Dolby Digital 2.0 converted to Analog Stereo

My problem is very simple: if the movie has stereo only, the TV can play it via HDMI. If it's DD, the TV cannot play it. As I have the media player connected via optical cable to AV receiver, it's annoying to hear some movies on both AV speakers and TV, so I have to turn TV sound to 0 (muting it wi...

Re: Dolby Digital 2.0 converted to Analog Stereo

I want to have the MKV file also with DD 2.0, not just stereo, is it possible? I tried to modify the MKV file with MKVMerge as well, but no succes. What is the principal difference between DD2.0 and PCM audio for you? Apart from compression (ie smaller file) used by DD? PS it would be impossible to...

Re: External blu ray player needs firmware updates for MakeM

The reason being simple: there just is no BD player software available on OS X. The Apple-provided DVD Player of course is not up to the task. Somewhat strangely, there are none from 3rd parties either (like AnyDVD or Total Media Theatre).

I took this advice and went for a LG BH10LS30 drive, installed the riplock-free firmware and now it performs perfectly.

Do you have any information, whether the BH12LS35 BD-Writer also falls into this category?
