Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023

Hi, I've had this a couple of years now, I know this is not a "U" model, but is it capable of ripping 4k discs, and if so, do I need to do anything to enable it? Thanks. Drive Information OS device name: H: Manufacturer: PIONEER Product: BD-RW BDR-212M Revision: 1.01 Serial number: Firmwar...

Re: Need advice on new drive

Thanks. Is there any disadvantage to flashing the ASUS with BH16NS60, would it disable anything and would it still have the layer break problems you mentioned? And out of curiosity, is there any advantage to a "UHD friendly" drive over an actual official one other than maybe price? I've re...

Need advice on new drive

Hi, I'm new here and I've just bought a Pioneer BDR-212EBK for £61. It's capable of BDXL but obviously not 4k and I bought it without realising that 4k required a different drive, I know I should have researched more and I rushed it a bit. Anyway, I can still send it back as I've only had it 3 days ...
