Re: Version v1.18.1 "Failed to open disc" on BDs that open in 1.17.2
Tried different discs, but still getting the same error over and over again. Is this not the log needed for debugging or is this error something that's truly undiscovered that has no solution? If so how can I submit a bug report and what kind of logs and how can I output such logs for analysis? Make...

Not possible, because all older versions are no longer unusable in the now released macOS 15.5.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 5:03 amThen go back to using an older version. I am still using v1.17.6 myself. Haven't needed to update yet.

Surprised that there are zero responses, so I suppose this isn't common at all or I am not providing enough log information?
If anyone has advice on how to output more detailed logs and data for analysis, help would be appreciated.

Version v1.18.1 "Failed to open disc" on BDs that open in 1.17.2
I tried installing Version v1.18.1 on my test machine running macOS 15.5 Beta, and though the app opens as it should, BDs that were rippable in version 1.17.2 fail with an error "Failed to open disc". MakeMKV v1.18.1 darwin(x64-release) started Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /...

BD-RE XL Discs failing after 1.17.2
Recorded BD-RE XL Discs are apparently failing to read on all MakeMKV versions after 1.17.2 Every time you try ripping the disc, it stalls as "Parsing file: /AACS/Content000.cer" and ends up failing. On older version of MakeMKV, such as version 1.17.2, the same disc rips perfectly. Because...

Tried that with every possible combinations of PureRead ON/OFF, Spinning Speed Persistent Quiet/Quiet/Performance, including turning off both features but to no avail.

Slow 0.2x ripping even with LibreDrive... Why?
Excited to see Pioneer drives finally supporting LibreDrive! I was expecting it to rip at full speed now, but I'm still seeing the slow ripping speeds seen in Pioneer drives. Even with LibreDrive enabled, ripping speed is down to 0.2x at a whopping 1053K/s, though initally it would rip at around 2.0...
