I've got the same Archgon drive, and it's coastered a couple of my discs. It's a thin scratch, but since it follows the data path, the errors it produces are uncorrectable. Doesn't happen with every disc, but it seems to happen when the drive gets bumped. I've sort-of fixed it by cutting out strips ...
