Re: SDF update November 2025
Today we pushed a major SDF.bin update. Most Pioneer drives should work now as is, without the need for a firmware update. If your drive is Pioneer, check that you have latest version of SDF.bin (the program should download it automatically). Please report here if you see any changes at all. IMPORT...

Re: SDF update November 2025
Hi BDR-X13JBK cannot read UHD discs. Manual for this drive shows UltraHD logo, but this drive is not capable to read UHD discs unless its cross-flashed to other capable drive (for example X13J-S). Automatic SDF download: MakeMKV is actually downloading data of the size of sdf.bin (1.9MiB), but then ...

Re: MakeMKV above v1.17.7 still broken on Linux
1.18.2 fixed the problem for me Hi I still fixed for you? After more tries/running MakeMKV? Because in my case, even newer versions above 1.17.7 occasionally work, but only from time to time. For me, still even 1.18.2 is not fixed. Originally I tought the "current working path" could be t...

Re: Decryption failed on multiple non-UHD blu-ray discs
Hello Please can you tell how or point to some post/article how we can generate own VUK/UK keys (without host certificate but with LibreDrive)? Thank you so much I mean a generic key for v82 is needed, otherwise every new BD released will have to wait for someone to update the keydb. A device key co...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Hello guys
Please can anybody tell me what is the difference or how the drive differs one from another when one drive identifies platform as RS8E20 and other as SAT 8E20 ? That RS vs SAT prefix.
Do anyone know the difference? Thanks!

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
So does it look like Pioneer won the battle? No pioneer lost... Unforunately, everybody lost. Because entertainment industry is full of idiots who are thinking that everybody is a pirate we have to deal with stupid restrictions in form of DRM... Pioneer lost because they cannibalized their sales an...

Re: Slim internal UHD drive
Yes, it is possible to remove it. On sides there are small holes and you have to pry the top and bottom metal plate ... I am looking what uhd internal slim drives are available and the only one I can see is: HLDS BU40N (Still seems to be available in amazon) Did find the Verbatim 43888, which is ext...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Hello Mike and whole MakeMKV team. I am using MakeMKV for a while and I really appreciate your work, so to show you my support I bought license key 2 weeks ago. During my recent trip to Japan I bought japanese version of external drive Pioneer BDR-X13JBK. I was lucky because is made in may 2022 with...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Hi guys I have an 'interesting' firmware version in LG BU40N drive. Can I safely flash it with MK firmware to enable LibreDrive support? I recently bought this drive in Japan, sold as an external drive I-O Data BRP-UC6K. Eternal enclosure is similar (basically identical) as Verbatim 43888 (Pioneer ...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
The BDR-212-DBK has a plastic lens, and I have stress tested this model with 300 discs. This is a reason why I do not sell these drives. The failure rate is 12%, whereas the S12-XLT with a glass lens has less than a 1% failure rate. Please save your money. Asmcom Old post, but just wondering how ca...
