I could flash LibreDrive 1.04 on a newer drive with v1.04 from the factory.
But 1.03 from the old folder would not work. It flashed without error, but it stayed on 1.04. I used the 'enc' option

If there are issues, why is 1.04 in the pack?

I only see the fw HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.04-NM00500-212005061142.bin in your pack.
Is that actually v1.03?

I just got a second Archon drive for my second desktop running macOS and am getting ready to patch it. I noticed that the first drive is at Revision 1.03 (HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BU40N_1.03_211810241934_MO9L91G5731,) while the latest firmware patches show 1.04 (HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.04-NM00500-212005061142....

What do you select for UltraHD folders on the disk?

I ended up linking all three entries in /usr/local/lib.

VLC opens the disk but I get a black screen, no errors. When I advance a track, I get a black screen with the disk title.

Handbrake uses the Video Encoding toolbox which greatly benefits from the AV Media encoding cores.

MakeMKV 1.16.5 and VLC 3.0.16 result in a hard crash requiring a reboot. MakeMKV has no trouble ripping to MKV, so I do not think it's the UDF file issue.
