Enhancement: "Rescan" for DiscDrive if non if plugged in
Hi, I'm one of those persons that has his Bluray Drive stored away and only connect it via usb when I get a new disc (which is fairly rare). I noticed that when you start makemkv and the plug in the discdrive it still says "no drive detected" and I couldn't find any way to "rescan&quo...

No disc inserted on one disc
Hi everyone, I saw multiple threads about this, but none solved my problem. I've got the 'Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva' bluray but makemkv says that there is no disc inserted. I've flashed around 20 Blurays the past 2 days but this one wouldn't work. tbh I don't think it's exactly a makemkv...

Re: How to edit tags on mkv
I use a batch file to let me set a number of things on MKV files after processing: c:\MKVTools\MKVToolNix\mkvpropedit.exe %1 -e track:s1 --set flag-default=1 --set flag-forced=1 --edit info --set "title=%~n1" The --set "title=%~n1" sets the title field to the file name without t...

How to edit tags on mkv
Hi everyone. I finally ripped my first full series and now I wanted to edit the tags and name them. I currently have the files on my nas and watch them with vlc. I used 3delite mkv tag editor to edit the tags. Since it uses the imdb database for that it was really easy to use and the "rename&qu...

Re: Beginner setup help
I will buy a drive and give it a try. Probably first without flashing and then I will go into the flashing stuff. Just a short follow up. I bought the LG BH16NS55 for around 50€ on ebay. First I ripped season one of a series without flashing (standard 1080p bluray) with makemkv and it was really ea...

Re: Beginner setup help
oh, it's the same post. Didn't notice it since I didn't read everything past the USB enclosures. Thanks for linking it to me.
Also thanks for your help and answers. I will buy a drive and give it a try. Probably first without flashing and then I will go into the flashing stuff.

Re: Beginner setup help
Thanks for your answer. Just be aware that for an LG drive, buying it is a first step, it must also be flashed with custom firmware to unlock ripping of 4k discs. Never tried to up-, downgrade or unlock a firmware on a drive - but that normally doesn't hinder me from trying stuff  Do you have ...

Beginner setup help
Hi, so I'm really new to ripping Blurays and I'm still not sure if I have everything I need. I read some threads and watched some videos (the most useful I saw was from EposVox, the one he made back in 2019). I basically need a way to watch my Blu-rays on my PC, with no loss in quality. Also, I curr...
