Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
AFAIK that isn't possible yet. The Atmos/Object metadata is always lost.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Damn. I thought this was a Plex issue, but it also happens on the x800. I went back and replaced my 1536kbps tracks with 768kbps tracks. Is there a better solution to this?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 7:12 pm
...And the FFMPEG EAC3 1536kbps tracks stutter just like on my x800 7.1 EAE encoded tracks are fine.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
btw, I got a response from Dolby about the Cm_analyze.exe slow performance: Our Professional Tools make use of Apple’s ProRes decoding library and we have identified performance bugs, including lack of GPU accelerated decoding on Windows and Linux, and a severe performance hit when running on some ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
It's impossible to tell it so easily. You need a lot of tools, Davinci Resolve, Dolby Media Encoder, eac3to, command line and some knowledge) I likely have all of the same tools as you. I've been decoding the Atmos tracks then importing those into Dolby Media Encoder to encode using the 7.1 DDP Atm...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The problem is that the BL is 203759 frames and the EL & RPU are both only 203758 frames. I can't do that with 2-1-1 though since it'll only effect the RPU, right? Any ideas on how to remove 1 frame just from the BL in the AVS? What about using the Preview tab in StaxRip to ignore the final fra...

Re: (8-6) x265 HDR
I've noticed the default x265 HDR encoder settings batch file has a flag to set --max-luma to 1023. Should this be modified if the source file has a MaxCLL of 4000?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
This may have been answered somewhere within this thread but since makemkv is able to rip the dolby vision layer is it possible to create a dolby vision playable mkv file through mkv or do you have use scripts? This really depends on the player you plan on viewing your media on. Checkout the signat...

1. if it's fel and expands brightness or improves details: MP4 version + workflow 4-3 2. mel or fel that doesn't touch brightness or details: MP4 or TS version + workflow 4-2 Regarding the latest Mission movie, am I correct that the FEL doesn't expand BL brightness. Is there a way to tell if the FE...

There was a ")" in the path. It works fine now. Thank you.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 12:07 amdoes your input filename contain'')''
I just noticed that input with '')'' doesn't work in 6-2. I introduced this bug when I added profile 5 support in 6-2

Sorry about that. I've added dovi_tool_no_floor. However, 6-2 still crashes. I'm running LAVFilters 0.78.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 10:55 pmIn the latest version, I removed the 10nits and 100nits floor so you need to add in your tools folder, the modified version of the dovi_tool linked in the release note.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
FYI, in the new Mission Impossible, it looks like the colorist missed the memo about L2 0.025 lift. These shots will most likely result in grey letterbox on devices that ignore L5 And you can clearly see on this video how the trims raise the brightness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk6ria8_PFo R...

Since baking in FEL with StaxRip I've been getting validate_metadata errors like these, when adding the converted RPU. Is this normal? Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
if you use the dovi_scripts, it's not too complicated. automated: workflow 8-6-2 manual (with staxrip or in cli x265.exe): 1. workflow 7-1 in manual mode. 2. edit the avs script: remove the text overlay and uncomment convertbits(10) 3. convert the rpu to p8. 4. encode the avs file just like any HDR...
