Re: Title failed to save
Thank you mike_admin. That's very exciting to hear. I can't wait to start converting my collection...but first thing is the purchase of several hard drives and a server computer.

Specific ways to optimize a computer for HD playback?
Hello everyone, I'm planning on doing a big HTPC living room makeover this year. I intend to use makemkv to covert my dvd collection to uncompressed mkv files. As most of you know, these big files are always more sluggish than the 100MB avi files that we are used to. I haven't tried playing a 50GB b...

Re: Makemkv runs, but doesn't save file
Thanks crowfax! That was a very helpful response. Man! I just bought anydvd lifetime in preparation for my project to convert all my dvd's this year. But I'm glad to know that Makemkv is so capable. That's pretty big news, in my opinion! If makemkv can make anydvd irrelevant in some ways, I think th...

Re: Title failed to save
How about this method? Can I rip a dvd to an ISO image, and then use that image in makemkv to convert it? Is that a practice that I should do? I ask because I have already previously done the legwork of converting things to ISO's and I'm not going to want to find the dvd's themselves, but I will if ...

Re: Makemkv runs, but doesn't save file
question about anydvd: I keep reading here to disable anydvd before using makemkv. Why is that? Does makemkv do what anydvd can do? To be honest, I'm not too clear on the distinctions of each program. Do i even need anydvd if i'm going to use makemkv? as far as I'm concerned, if makemkv can convert ...

Re: Media Players, lets discuss!
I'm looking for a media player that has specific BUTTONS for navigating the chapters within an mkv file. So if a single mkv file has multiple chapters, I'd like to have some next/previous buttons to navigate through them. Buttons for subtitles and audio options would be nice also. I know most player...

Re: Title failed to save
Sorry, I did not intend for my post to be so over the top or inflammatory. I wasn't angry or annoyed or anything...very neutral. i just wanted to understand what the issue really was. Sorry about that, it's sometimes difficult to get the proper tone across with text. Here's a question: let's say a v...

Re: Title failed to save
hi! I don't have the original... Then it's inappropriate to post a question about it at the MakeMKV Forums... I have the same situation in the thread i created. So here's my question. Are you saying that you won't try to fix DVD error issues unless you first make sure that the requester has the ori...

Re: Makemkv runs, but doesn't save file
i don't have the original dvd anymore. The files were created by just copying the video_ts files and stuff directly off the dvd, so that's all I have. As far as I know, it's a normal USA dvd.

Makemkv runs, but doesn't save file
I'm trying to rip a movie, and the program gets all the way through, but doesn't save the file. it says:
0 titles saved, 1 failed
Further up, there's an error:
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #1 does not match one in IFO header.
How can this be fixed?
