Mine is MKB20_v77_Pi_1998_624A.tgz. Since there's only the one source for this disc, I'd imagine they're all the same.

UHD dump file submitted. All other discs rip fine.

Since it's been a month and a half with no fix for this, I decided to try again on another drive. This was the output... Any thoughts? There CAN be reasons for this other than no key available. IF resubmitting dump doesn't work, look to other potential issues. Fixing Volume Key is Unknown Thanks for the reply, d00zah. No complaints, but this has been over a month and still not working. My concern would be that it can't be fixed, and I won't have any way to find out. Does anyone know a way to get a general status (other than just waiting and trying once in a while)?

I was finally able (after three discs) to get a dump file on this release, which I've submitted. Error reported is "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted".

Just received the Imprint Zhang Yimou / Gong Li box set, and exactly the same issue. Speaking with Imprint support (who were dismissive), they hinted that there is "encryption" that "may" prevent it from playing. So my guess is this is intentional, and likely affects all Imprint ...

This is a known issue, and Criterion will replace the discs (I had to do the same for my set). Email mulvaney@criterion.com for help.

Yup, have tried this with both discs (microfiber for both passes). Definitely not a cleaning issue.

This is a strange one, and not specifically about MakeMKV... I've tested this on two different copies of this disc (an Australian import), as well as two different drives, with the same results on both. In both cases, the disc keeps trying to spin up, but finally gives up without successfully mounti...

Yup, did exactly that! And no worries, I'm patient... I have a few movies to watch.

I've just submitted a dump file for this disc. The non-UHD Blu-ray disc rips just fine, though.

Is there anything else I need to do other than wait patiently?
