Re: New twist in anti-copy technology
This is what I found so far using AnyDVD HD v7.5.7.4 with AI Scanner enabled. I let AnyDVD HD scan the disc and then look at the Status tab > Java BD protection good playlists. Write the playlist numbers down. I turn off AnyDVD HD, open/close the drive, then run MakeMKV so it reads faster. Disc #1 ...

Re: Harry Potter 7 Part 2 and The Descendants
I have that drive. It works fine. The error you're now getting means the AACS certificate has been revoked from your drive. I've never had the issue myself, so I'm not sure what to suggest. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on the problem. Glad to hear it! :) I read a lot of good reviews abo...

Re: Harry Potter 7 Deathly Hollows Part 2
Some discs are simply poorly pressed. Occasionally new discs might have a slight greasy film on them, so cleaning them with a soft cloth may fix your issue, but you're better off returning them for new ones. There is no copy protection on blu-rays that can stop the disc being read, your drive is sa...

Re: Removing specific audio tracks from MKV file with MakeMK
Use mkvmerge GUI (part of Mkvtoolnix). Great! Thanks for the tip guys! :) I am aware of how to use MakeMKV to uncheck certain audio tracks before ripping from the original disc, but I was in a hurry and as a result, this one got past me and I didn't discover the problem until well after I had rippe...

Removing specific audio tracks from MKV file with MakeMKV?
I recently encoded a BD disc that contained an audio track called True Dolby HD which is in the default track position when I call up the movie with Plex. My system can't play this track properly and the video slows down to half speed and the audio is all distorted with digital noise in the audio. T...

Re: Why so much slower than making ISO
Can't say I have ever paid much attention to the difference in rip time between these various formats. The end result is what matters to me. If you use something like PLEX as your video file delivery hub as I do, then MKV files are by far the most elegant and preferred way to archive your titles. I ...

Re: DVD Won't Eject After Using MakeMKV
Ouch. The 1.6.4 with DASPI was supposed to fix unreliable eject. Thanks for reporting. No problem Mike! Hope you can get this fixed in the next release. I really hate having to totally reboot our machines just to get a DVD out of the drive after a rip. The problem is sporadic as I mentioned, but ha...

Re: DVD Won't Eject After Using MakeMKV
I continue to see this problem from time to time. I had it happen several times in a row yesterday on the iMAC using 1.6.4. As I stated in my original email, the only way I can get the disc out when this happens is to restart the machine and after it boots back up, hitting the eject button on the ke...

Re: makemkv 1.6.4 too slow than 1.6.3
I ran some rips yesterday with 1.6.4 and encountered a high failed to save rate. A few DVDs failed to save any of the files according to MakeMKV, but oddly, there were actual video files in the save directory and I was able to play them form start to finish. So... Why did MakeMKV say that they all f...

Re: 1.6.4 too slow on my pc
Although I never did any benchmarks with 1.6.3, it does seem to me that 1.6.4 is MUCH slower than 1.6.3.

Re: Beta key Expired?
I just got the same message when I opened the app to check after reading your post. I had asked Mike about this a week ago since we were nearing the end of the current key, but never got a response. :( Hopefully he will update the key or possibly issue a new version of MakeMKV with a new beta key in...

Re: How to chose the right title?
Did you drill down into the file and have a look at what is contained in the title? Click the arrow to display the directory tree and this will provide a list of files inside the main title header. You can also uncheck stuff you don't need such as other languages and such. (setting MakeMKV prefs to ...

Re: Title failed to save
No problem. It is often hard to convey your actual emotional state in a text message. :) Its just that this is obviously a VERY touchy subject since it is assumed that everyone is copying their own PERSONAL COPY of the DVDs they OWN, and not a bootleg or something illegal. I would say that when it c...

@homeuser
How utterly RIDICULOUS to expect Mike to address a problem so obviously related to a POORLY ripped COPY of a commercial DVD!
What planet are you on anyway?
Sheesh... Get real!

Re: Unforgiven - main feature fails to rip
I just ripped that movie the other day using MakeMKV with no problems at all. I agree with the post above mine that your drive is probably the cause of the problem. I have occasionally had a problem like this with random DVDs and Blu-rays, but a quit of MakeMKV and/or an eject and reload of the disc...
