makemkvcon backup does not work for ISO source?
Is there a reason that makemkvcon backup iso:sourcefile.iso /dest/dir/ does not work? It fails with the message Backup source must start with "disc:" However, makemkvcon is perfectly capable of using the same ISO file for a source with makemkvcon info iso:sourcefile.iso and converting to a...

Re: Hunger Games Catching Fire BD - Which Playlist
I imagine it would not be very difficult to have several versions of discs (i.e., different playlists that nevertheless play the same movie), even with the same UPC code. Makes it difficult for people to just post the correct number in the forums.

Re: Hunger Games Catching Fire BD - Which Playlist
Thor does not have Java BD protection, so there is nothing for AnyDVD to show.

Re: Hunger Games Catching Fire BD - Which Playlist
how do you get MakeMkv identify the correct one? I'm on the latest beta and haven't seen that as a feature. I'd try AnyDVD but I don't want to pay every 2 years to stay in the upgrade cycle. You do not need to do anything. If MakeMKV can decipher it, then it will just display a note next to the tit...

Re: Hunger Games Catching Fire BD - Which Playlist
The correct playlist seems to be 00461.mpls If you want to verify yourself, backup the disk and watch those segments in order. I have a netflix disc, and AnyDVD 7.4.4.0 says that 461.mpls is the correct one, so assuming you have the same version of the disc, it looks like your method agrees with An...

Re: Hunger Games Catching Fire BD - Which Playlist
Note that there are multiple versions of the blu-ray discs out. The correct title will usually be different depending on which version of the disc you have. The easiest way to get the correct number is usually to use AnyDVD. If you download the latest beta version, it will usually tell you which one...

Re: Ender's Game Bluray
I don't make the distinction just to be argumentative. There is little that can be done about the studios selling discounted rental copies. But if enough Netflix and Redbox customers complain about getting inferior discs, then Netflix and Redbox might stop shortchanging their customers and refuse to...

Re: Ender's Game Bluray
Don't blame just the studios. Netflix and RedBox are as much to blame as the studios. Netflix can buy retail blu-rays legally if they are willing to forgo the discount they get from the studios for the rental copies.

Re: Where is MPLS listed?
It is too bad MakeMKV does not number the titles by this number. It would make it quicker to find a specific number when there are dozens of them in the list.

Re: Makemkv now indicates main title on BluRay's?
It is certainly not 100% accurate. It got it wrong on Ender's Game.

Re: Ender's Game Bluray
I tried tappinaway's perl script on Ender's Game, and it also thought 752 was correct, so I guess MakeMKV is using the same technique as tappinaway's script.amaprime wrote: the makemkv (primary title) is never right, in my experience.
But the latest AnyDVD beta (7.4.2.2) says that 815 is the correct title.

Re: RED 2
That is because the rental BR does not have the DTS-MA track. Netflix et al. get a discount buying direct but the discs they get are lower quality and/or missing features.Gronnie wrote:Is there any way to rip this with the HD Audio track using MakeMKV?
It doesn't even show up as an audio track.

Re: RED 2
I popped the blu-ray into my Oppo player and the movie duration is 1:55:48 Also, here are the times for a few chapter stops (as read from my Oppo player): 1) 0:00:00 2) 0:08:16 3) 0:14:47 4) 0:21:15 17) 1:45:09 18) 1:46:45 My Oppo also lists a 19th chapter stop at 1:55:48, but it always does that. I...

Re: DTS-HD MA - Why are MA and Core both selectable ?
I'll take functionality over a nice GUI every time. Ideally we would have both, but the world is rarely ideal.
