Thanks, at least I have a confirmation and could direct my energy someplace else.
So looking for a new drive - is it still the case that all drives that officially support playback of UHD can't be used to RIP them? No-exceptions that anyone is aware of?

@MartyMcNuts - here's a photo of the drive inside the enclosure. According to the label it is manufactured March 2016. Does the photo gives you more insight?
