Well...knock on wood and I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but I have two USB PC ports so I plugged each drive into one and both just ripped a UHD successfully. 🤷♂️MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sat May 24, 2025 12:08 amIt seems that libredrive didn't activate and the drive's certificate was revoked. This has happened to me once before with a 43888 and a reboot of the drive and MakeMKV fixed it. That's why the first thing I said to you was to unplug the drive for a minute before plugging it in again.Ace77 wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 10:41 pmWhy does it say "LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted" when these are, correct? I'm just completely baffled why these both worked perfectly fine for a time and now they don't. Or why they both once ripped UHD and now they both only will do blu ray. I would think if it was a problem with the ports that neither would rip anything, but they do blu ray.
Can you not use the hub and just connect the drive direct to the PC ports?

Re: Verbatim 43888 (Pioneer BDR-UD04) ERROR
Does your dock have it's own power supply? Is it greater than 30w? It does, and it is 130w. Good. very strange though. Maybe that USB port is faulty? Can you try switching the drive to another port or switch another drive to that port? And wonderful... I start my ripping today and now BOTH of these...

Re: Verbatim 43888 (Pioneer BDR-UD04) ERROR
Unplug the drive for a minute then plug it back in. Ensure the OS initialises the disc before you open MakeMKV. That did not work, but I kept trying different things and found something working...for now anyway. So I have four ripping drives I have connected to a dock, so I am ripping four movies a...

Verbatim 43888 (Pioneer BDR-UD04) ERROR
Hello! A few months ago I purchased two of these drives from Amazon DE and just started ripping with them today. I started the day ripping 4k UHD's with both drives just fine, no problems. After a few rips with each drive one of the drives will no longer rip UHD, but will still rip standard blu ray,...

Re: Rip to NAS or to PC first? How to multiple discs?
All four of my optical drives are 5.25" 'internal' drives that are in powered external, USB connected enclosures like this: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MR3UKIT/ They're all plugged in a USB hub like this: https://plugable.com/products/usb3-hub7c which is then connected to my computer. ...

Re: Rip to NAS or to PC first? How to multiple discs?
MakeMKV has a preference called 'Ask for single drive mode' that when turned on, locks an instance of MakeMKV to a specific optical drive. This keeps multiple instances from interfering with each other. Personally, I rip to a local SSD, get everything how I like it, then move it off to my NAS. I do...

Rip to NAS or to PC first? How to multiple discs?
I have zero experience with a NAS, and am still researching which to buy, but I think I've reached the point I want to rip my movie collection to a NAS. Currently have 450 UHD (and counting) and 1,000 blu ray, so I think it's time. I also have three UHD friendly drives, plus one blu ray drive, for a...

Add me to the list of unsatisfied customers. Alex is very helpful and quick with responses before you send money. Once you send him money you get a promised ship date that comes and goes with no communication about it. You might even get a tracking number, even though the drive doesn't actually get ...

Did it actually ship, or did you just get a tracking number? Check the tracking number to see if it has actually been received by the post office and in transit. He got me on that one.
