Re: Two versions of movie on blu-ray disc? Deathly Hallows
All-righty-then. Thanks. -john @jabster Hi! I believe one of them is called "Maximum Movie Mode", described in a review as follows: — Actor Jason Issacs hosts this Maximum Movie Mode. Many other crew members pop up along the way. Producer David Heyman comes along near the beginning to talk...

Two versions of movie on blu-ray disc? Deathly Hallows
Hi. I've noticed this on a couple of discs recently. In this case specifically, with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, there appear to be two complete(?) versions of the movie on the disc. One is 29 chapters, and one is 30 chapters. From the Best Buy site, it officially has 30 chapters. Does any...

Re: TMNT Retail R1 DVD
Hi.
I'm getting the RPC protection error as well (Mel Brooks To Be Or Not To Be). So there's really no way around that? What are the odds of it being bypassable at some point in the future?
thanks,
john

Re: Problems ripping Up DVD
Well, I didn't solve the problem, tho I did come up with a work-around: just rip the Blu-ray disk. Who woulda thunk that ripping a blu-ray would ever be easier than ripping a DVD? After only watching 10 minutes or so it seems fine. First thing I noticed tho, is that on the DVD rip, I'm missing the w...

TruHD: bitstream parsing failed
Hi. I am trying to rip the blu-ray of Half-Blood Prince, and the video and AC3 come out fine, but I'm having problems with the trueHD. My WDTV tells me the track is unsupported, and eac3to gives me the message: bitstream parsing failed Demuxing this track may still produce correct results - or not. ...

Re: Toy Story DVD DTS audio out of sync
Seems OK in SMplayer. But I'm not sure it's really playing DTS. I'm using the a52 codec, and the dts codecs (libdca & ffdca) don't seem to be working.

Re: Toy Story DVD DTS audio out of sync
I'm playing it on my WDTV (ver 01). I can try a software player, but the WDTV plays everything else with DTS back perfectly; it seems specific to toy story.
I'll let you know.

Toy Story DVD DTS audio out of sync
Hi. I have ripped the Toy Story DVD twice now, once earlier, and then just now using 1.4.12, and while the AC3 audio is fine, the DTS audio is out of sync, and it drifts to be even worse as the movie progresses. It's obviously out of sync during the opening scene/theme song. Any suggestions or ideas...

Re: Blu-ray rips not playing well on WDTV..any one know why?
If not satisfied with CRF=20 then try CRF=16 ...although it'll be a larger in size. If satisfied with the result keep working your way up CRF=17, then CRF=18, etc. Just encode a chapter with lots of action to test your results. No need to do the whole movie until you find your desired quality. Trie...

Re: Blu-ray rips not playing well on WDTV..any one know why?
I think it has to do with bitrate. I have two wdtv lives. Highest I've done I've played back with no problem I believe is 12Mbps bitrate. So in a nutshell I'd use handbrake with CRF 20 high profile and it'll take that Transformers movie down to about 7GB and you won't be able to tell the difference...

Re: Blu-ray rips not playing well on WDTV..any one know why?
For the record, here is my output cat /etc/mtab for the NFS mount: 192.168.100.5:/home/john/Download/DVDRips /tmp/media/usb/Rips nfs rw,v3,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,hard,lock,proto=tcp,addr=192.168.100.5 0 0 Default is UDP. Neither plays Potter or Trans2. 32768 is max as well. However, x264-ing via Ha...

Re: Blu-ray rips not playing well on WDTV..any one know why?
Hello, I am currently having this exact issue, I have been in contact with WD and they I have sent them the mediainfo for the movies that have caused me issues. I have noticed that you can workaround the issue by switching audio tracks and then switching back to the original. The problem goes away ...

Re: Problems ripping Up DVD
OK. Fine. :) Considering that I've had trouble ripping other Disney/Pixar movies (Cars & Tinkerbell spring to mind), regardless of ripping method (makemkv, mplayer, etc), I figured it was a general question. Especially since a later version of makemkv ripped both just fine whereas mplayer still ...
