Re: Forced subtitles

I would only be interested in the English subtitles. Therefore, you recommend I select ALL 8 English subtitle options in the example I provided, correct? Before I decide to do this, I will only be ripping each 4k once, correct? For example, I don't do the first rip with all subtitles selected then, ...

Re: Forced subtitles

Wow, that seems very complicated. I lost you when you mentioned MKVtoolnix tools and forced flags. Is there a 4k blu ray database that tells you if a title even has forced subtitles? This way, I can at least start by figuring out which titles I need redo and which one I can leave alone. Hopefully, I...

Forced subtitles

I understand this topic has been discussed in the past, but I was able to fully understand things looking at older threads. I've been using MakeMKV for over 10 years and just realized that forced subtitles aren't automatic. This is pretty upsetting because now I have to re-rip my entire collection. ...

Re: MKV Files and HDR

I'm not sure what you mean by that. I know my display is not in HDR unless I enable it in Windows. Like I said, there is no difference in the picture if HDR is enabled in Windows. I understand VLC supports HDR and dcoke22 confirmed that mkv files contain HDR.

MKV Files and HDR

Hello, When I rip a 4K UHD blu-ray in makemkv, does the mkv file actually have HDR? For example, the picture appears exactly the same in VLC player if HDR is enabled or not in Windows. When I enable HDR in Windows, I can see the change in Windows. Plus, my display briefly shows the signal has change...

Re: Brand New Pioneer BDR-212UBK Not Working

I got another copy of the 4k title, and it ripped without any issues. Therefore, I have ripped (40) 4k discs on the BDR-212 without any issues. The drive is very quiet.

Thanks for the recommendation billy!

Re: Brand New Pioneer BDR-212UBK Not Working

In case I wasn't clear, I had to format my drive and re-rip all my discs again.

Do others have issues with this particular title?

Thank you,

Re: Brand New Pioneer BDR-212UBK Not Working

Well, I was able to rip all my 4k's, (33 titles) with the bdr-212ubk no problem. Except for the Scott Pilgrim 4k and I cleaned it 5 times. It seems strange to me that I was able to rip this disc fine with my LG before it died. Does the Scott Pilgrim 4k have a reputation of being problematic? In the ...

Re: Brand New Pioneer BDR-212UBK Not Working

I did clean the disc as you suggested twice, and still no luck. Is there anything else I can try other than buying another brand-new copy?

Brand New Pioneer BDR-212UBK Not Working

I just got this new drive from B&H, and it failed to rip a 4K disc. This disc is also brand new and clean. It reads the disc quickly without any issues but fails to rip. I ripped 2 other 4k discs before this one without any issues. I ripped this disc before without any issues with my LG WH16NS60...

Re: LG WH16NS60 VS LG WH16NS40

I just ordered a Pioneer BDR-212UBK. This drive will work for ripping 4ks using makeMKV without having to do any flashing. I then can watch the mkv's in VLC without any issues. Is this correct? I never had to replace an optical drive before on my PC. Aside from physically swapping them out, do I nee...

Re: LG WH16NS60 VS LG WH16NS40

I went through all the full-size internal drives and decided to get another LG WH16NS60 or a Pioneer BDR-212UBK. To clarify, for the WH16NS60 firmware 1.02MK is recommended, correct? For the BDR-212UBK it will work out of the box and does not need to be flashed, correct? Again, I am only using makeM...
