Re: Installation Script
FYI, I've updated my script to support MakeMKV 1.7.5 (a new file naming convention and an extra dependency thrown in there). PPA users should be seeing the new version in a few hours (depending on when Launchpad says my script is worthy...), let me know if there are any issues. I'll try to update th...

Re: toolbar disappeared in 1.6.16 on Ubuntu
Assuming Unity, in the top status bar there is a menu option for View with a Toolbar item underneath it.

Re: Some Feature Ideas
For the first issue, there is a way to limit the minimum length of the title. View --> Preferences --> Video has an option for Minimum Title Length. By default it's something low, I set mine to 600 seconds which seems to cover the majority of the things I want it to do. Since I don't pay for TV serv...

Re: Install 1.6.15
Glad it worked! I've made a request for having a --version switch (http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4128), but for now if you load up the GUI it will appear at the bottom text output area. I think it's in the output of makemkvcon once it gets started as well.

Re: Install 1.6.15
Probably a bit of the text would be useful, usually the last few lines but anything that says "fatal error" or something equally scary could also be useful. Also make sure all of your dependencies are in order. I wrote a script I use to update my own MakeMKV, you can see how to download it...

Feature request: --version support
I'd like to request that makemkv and/or makemkvcon support a --version (or similar) parameter that will just output the version information and exit. It would be useful for scripting to make sure you're running the most up-to-date flavor. Thanks!

Re: Installation Script
Not sure if anyone actually uses my script, but I had to reinstall MakeMKV on another PC so I updated the script to allow you to run makemkv-install latest and it will try to grab the latest version. You may need to do a sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade since I added curl as...

MKV file renamer
Using MakeMKV to rip movies works well, you only have to rename one file. When I'm ripping a series where I've got a dozen files in a season things get a little more iffy. I wrote a script for myself which will rename the files in two stages: First MakeMKV will create a directory based on the DVD vo...

Re: uninstall makemkv!!!
Using apt-get is great for packages that are in repositories (sudo apt-get install vim or sudo apt-get remove emacs are both very useful commands). But makemkv isn't in the repositories so it won't work. If makemkv were distributed in the form of a .deb file you could use sudo dpkg --remove makemkv-...

Re: libgll-mesa-dev
If it's a prerequisite of another package it's a bit moot, but it's libgl1-mesa-dev (or LIBGL1-MESA-DEV to clarify a bit):

Re: Life As We Know It
I wonder, though, if there's something the O/S can send to fix the drive (if it's a drive problem and not a driver one) without having to reboot. Almost certainly, but finding the source can be a pain. Out of curiosity, had you performed any updates recently? I've run into some issues with other ap...
