Re: How to tell which episode is which when using makeMKV on tv shows?
I believe MakeMKV will number the output files in the order they appear in the selection list, which AFAIK is the order that they are read from the disk. In my experience this is generally the correct order as far as episode number. I know some shows did have a different episode order on TV vs on th...

Re: HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N USB MODEL MD-8107-U3 ARCHGON
I have to preface this by saying that I do not use Blurays; I do remember reading some articles going back a bit about issues with UHD disks only working if you met a silly list of requirements though, however I also seem to recall that MakeMKV added something which worked around that issue... Perha...

Re: Need some help with +sel:(forced&(eng))
Well, it is good to know that it was not just me messing up the settings! I will go back to including all the relevant language subtitle files as default so that I can easily pull out any forced ones at a later date if I miss them to begin with. This is fortunately how I have done most of my collect...

Re: MacTheRipper issue when trying to copy DVD
Thanks, I will take another look with the different methods, actually last I tried it would have been before 17.0 added the new default, so I wonder whether that may be it. It is also possible that the disks are just dodgy, they do look legit enough, at least without something to compare them too, a...

Re: Need some help with +sel:(forced&(eng))
Interesting, I just gave it a try using those settings, but still only generated full subtitle files, one in German and one in English. I wonder; is it possible that this function just does not work with DVD's? I have yet to make the jump to Bluray so cannot try with one, but I understand the struct...

Re: MacTheRipper issue when trying to copy DVD
Error: "It appears that you are opening the disc processed by DvdFab/MacTheRipper which is known to produce damaged VOB files. Errors may follow - please use original disc instead. this won't stop you from ripping the disc. If you get another error after this, you might post a screenshot from ...

Re: Where to repair discs?
This wont help repair the disks, but may be of some use to you. I used ISOBuster to rip some old home videos from mini-dvd's which had degraded and failed through any of my usual programs. When it hits something it absolutely cannot read, it will give you the option to replace the data with 0's or d...

Re: Need some help with +sel:(forced&(eng))
Thank you for the suggestion, but no luck I am afraid :( Attempted with; -sel:all,+sel:(favlang),-sel:(havemulti|havecore),-sel:(special),-sel:subtitle,+sel:(forced*(eng)) and -sel:all,+sel:(favlang),-sel:(havemulti|havecore),-sel:(special),+sel:(forced*(eng)) Results were either no subs, or full su...

Need some help with +sel:(forced&(eng))
Hi Folks, Need to check if I am understanding something correctly here. I am backing up the Game of Thrones DVD's, which unlike almost everything else I have, actually use a single subtitle track with forced flags, rather than a separate subtitle track with only the foreign parts. I can see this in ...
