Re: Dump Submitted: Horizon
It didn't work for me. Looks like this is a different volume name.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
I saw someone elsewhere mention running a Pioneer BDR-212V patched for UHD support, but I haven't been able to find more information. Does anyone know? Simple as cross flashing with another version?

Re: DVD that can be read by Handbrake but not MakeMKV
I figured it out. I changed the mode to CellTrim from Auto. My understanding was that the program does that by default when you cancel out of the first method, but the program just hangs forever for me, no matter how many times I click cancel. On changing to CellTrim, it reads the disc with no troub...

DVD that can be read by Handbrake but not MakeMKV
I have a DVD (Coroner Creek & The Walking Hills from the Randolph Scott TCM Vault Collection) that Handbrake can read and rip successfully but MakeMKV cannot read. It appears to actually be a DVD-R (disc is blue). It is failing on the initial scan of the disc. Debug log follows. Is there anythin...

Re: Dolby Vision in UHD Backup?
It will if the disc contains DV. A full backup just copies the disc.

Re: Can't rip ANYTHING - I've read forums here for months
You should get a Connected response. If you then type "GET /", you should get an error that you requested plain text from an HTTPS port. If you get anything saying that the name could not be resolved, or the connection closes without a response, or it just times out, that is an indication ...

Check Preferences->General->Enable Internet access. If that is not enabled, you can't download volume keys.

Re: Not sure what to try next...
Most likely, the blu ray laser is dead. They seem to die a lot faster than the DVD lasers. I have half a dozen blu ray drives that now only read DVDs.

Re: Does HDDVD still work?
I went ahead and gave it a shot and can report success. Ripping HDDVD works just fine under 1.17.1 on Linux with an LG GGC-H20L drive with the exception of a couple of what I assume to be rotted discs.

Does HDDVD still work?
I have been offered a relative's HDDVD collection of about 80 discs. I don't have a drive, so I will need to spend about $50 to get one. Before I do that, I wanted to make sure that MakeMKV can still rip them. I searched the forum and it looked like maybe recent versions no longer support this forma...

Re: Crash on loading The Legend of Hell House Bluray / Scream Factory
Sure enough, I renamed java and it ripped fine. Strange that hasn't happened with any other disc. Thanks!

Crash on loading The Legend of Hell House Bluray / Scream Factory
When first reading the disc, MakeMKV crashes with the generic error message "Fatal error occurred, program will now exit." It is a brand new disc and looks perfectly clean with no blemishes. Any ideas would be appreciated. I am hoping to have this ripped by Halloween. Unfortunately, I don'...
