Re: mkvmerge --split returns unexpected results
AFAIK, the only way to add a "transition" is by using a video editing suite (pretty much ANY video editing suite).

Re: Unencrypted Backup from Encrypted Backup
It should work, I've done it myself. As soon as I mount the ISO image (assigning it a virtual drive letter), Windows "AutoPlay" pops up asking me what I want to do with the newly connected drive. I have MakeMKV added to the default programs for optical discs so I just click on that, but if...

Re: mkvmerge --split returns unexpected results
It's a shame we can't turn off the keyframe mode in MKVToolNix as well!

Re: Easy way to get titles in order on TV series...
Yes, yes, and no. Yes, late to the party :D Yes, most of the time the segment map of a PLAY ALL playlist (if one exists) will give you the correct order of the segments, but no, nothing is 100% guaranteed. It is possible for playlists to be split within MakeMKV if some of the segments have non-match...

Re: mkvmerge --split returns unexpected results
I tried (and abandoned) LosslessCut because it too would only cut on keyframes, maybe I had some setting incorrect (or maybe it's been changed via an update since I tried it). Every video editing suite I've ever used has been able to cut on an exact timecode though, and most have a lossless output f...

Re: Chinese BluRay Won't Rip?
Those Chinese bootleg "Blu-rays" are total crappola. To begin with, if you look closer you'll likely see that it isn't a commercially pressed disc but a burnt BD-R. I've bought maybe a dozen different titles and I reckon I've only had about a 75% success rate with them. And most of the tim...

Re: Subtitles off centered
Glad you got it sorted out. I use the GUI of all these programs, so command line stuff is beyond me (seems like ten times as much work if you ask me). The "track ID" error is nothing really, you will get that almost every time you add a track into an .mkv file. Every track within an MKV co...

Re: "The Menu" Deliberate Bad Blocks... [SOLVED]
So, I have to ask... How is this problem "[Solved]"?? I've had several instances where there were (I assume) mastering errors on a particular pressing of a disc. I purchased three copies of "Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet (2009)" (the Australian release), all had errors,...

Re: Ripping Blu Ray to later Upscale to 4K?
I haven't used Topaz Video AI yet, but I do plan on giving it one hell of a workout once I build a better PC (IE. something with a whole heap of GPU power). I think the word "upscale" perhaps gives the wrong impression here. Topaz doesn't just re-encode the lower res video to a higher reso...

Re: MakeMKV is so awesome I bought it a second time
I'm already a licenced user and I would happily pay again if only some (or any) of the feature requests (and bug reports, for that matter) raised in these forums were implemented. I agree that this software is among the best available for the purpose, but with a few very minor tweaks it could be so ...

Re: Subtitles off centered
Sorry, I should have explained that you need to extract the subtitle track(s) from the .mkv file first. There are many options for extracting tracks from .mkv files. You can use MKVToolNix with the MKVEXtractGUI-2 add-on, plus there are many stand-alone programs that will do it, as well as most vide...

Re: Subtitles off centered
I will give this a try. I.e. use SubtitleEdit to do the OCR on the subtitle and generate a SRT file. Then use that SRT in the Handbrake compression as an external subtitle file. I never modified the position of the subtitles in an SRT file beore, to be honest I didn't even know it was actually in t...

Re: Subtitles off centered
The very first thing I would suggest is to check whether they are like that in the source files (IE. watch the disc)? If not, and Handbrake has done something to screw up the positioning, you can either: figure out what setting within HB caused this, correct it, and re-encode again; or extract the s...

I always figured it was a liability thing... As in, 'I'm not responsible for your PC melting-down because you chose to use a program still in "Beta"?
