Re: Strange corruption issue - MakeMKV's fault or bad HDD?
~ on blurays it has a hash table and checks the files are correct as it copies. not sure if it checks before or after it writes to disk ~ The hash table can only verify the integrity of the files on the optical disc itself. It cannot be used to check for file copy errors once the content has been d...

Re: Cost to buy physical DVD/BD is skyrocketing?
Lately I've noticed that the releasing companies are only doing very limited runs of new titles ("only 1000 copies", or "only 1500 available"), which is pretty pathetic in a global market. And as above, re-sellers are buying-out the available supplies and then 'naming their price...

Re: Questions on Forced Subtitles
~ With the full back up (which I covert to an ISO using ImgBurn) I can easily play the movie on my PC using VLC ~ You don't need to create an ISO to play the 'virtual' disc (including menus) in VLC MP, a MakeMKV backup is able to do the same thing. Just open VLC, click on "Media > Open Disc......

Re: Top Load vs Slot Load vs Tray Load
I prefer tray loading (internal) drives myself, mainly because the disc itself has the least contact with anything. It's placed on the tray with my finger in the center hole only, it's not being dragged-in across some dusty piece of felt (or whatever that fluffy stuff is), and I don't have to 'pinch...

Re: How to rip an .iso file with MakeMKV
You gave me similar instructions for using ImgBurn over in this thread, but I could never make it work.
So I will give this new theory a try, as soon as you let me know what "DD" is???

Re: How to rip an .iso file with MakeMKV
This subject comes up almost every week lately. Why we can't just have the option to 'ISO' Blu-ray & UltraHD discs directly from MakeMKV I'll never know. It can already create an image of DVDs, but not BR nor UHD. With LibreDrive, it should be entirely possible. I just want to have a true image ...

Re: HandBrake can find Aliens Deleted Scenes that doesn't show up in MakeMKV
In the initial log screen (when you first open the disc/backup), is "00869.mlps" mentioned anywhere at all? Sometimes MakeMKV skips a title if it thinks it's identical to another (even though it may not be), but for the most part, it usually lists most titles that it skips. Note that they ...

Yep, Disney certainly ain't what it used to be.
Marvel Studios has gone down the crapper since Disney took over.
Now they don't even stand behind their own products!

Just to be clear, are we talking about a Blu-ray (eg. 1080px) or an UltraHD disc?

Re: Questions on Forced Subtitles
You can set MakeMKV's profile to automatically apply "default" and/or "forced" flags the first track in the list, but I find it too unreliable because the first track isn't always the one you want flagged. Different players treat forced tracks in different ways. Some require only...

Re: Way to see which subtitle track is "forced" before remuxing
~ I also take the additional step of converting the unencrypted backup to an ISO using ImgBurn. This makes it look like a "disc" to Windows and allows playback in VLC a bit easier. ~ You don't have to create an ISO to play the 'disc' in VLC. If you have a decrypted backup, simply open VLC...
