Re: All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported
... relevant for people considering paying a lot extra for the even rarer pre-2022-firmware Pioneer drives. If it's going to be on the order of months, then people may want to buy or (stick with already purchased) post-2022 firmware drives and wait for the "fix". If it's going to be on th...

Re: All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported
My spare Pioneer BDR-212V drive is flashed and stored away now! I have one in my PC already (which I bought in October), and recently I bought another from Amazon as a spare. I just plugged it in and flashed it with the LibreDrive firmware and packed it back up in the box, so it's ready to be used w...

Re: All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported
Do you people even realize that drives can be fixed when they age? I mean it will probably get to the point when there will be no more new drives anyway. And slim drives better than desktop ones? Perhaps for snapping your discs with that flimsy hub design they have. They probably can be fixed, but ...

Re: All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported
You shouldn't wait. If you can find them jump on them. I myself have another 212v coming just to have it as a spare. But shipping is like a month out so... I went ahead and bought another BDR-212V from Amazon for the $147.95. It just hurts a bit because I bought my first one for $83.. And what if t...

Re: All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported
I have a Pioneer BDR-212V, which I (thankfully) purchased in October, before the prices started going up. I paid about $83 for mine. With the news now, I'm thinking about buying another to have as a spare. Currently it's $147.95 on Amazon, which is disappointing. But if all Pioneer drives will suppo...

Re: All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported
Very good news, but there are no more Pioneer burners available for purchase in the open market. :( If you're only concerned about ripping though, you wouldn't need a burner, just one that can read discs..? I don't know if there even is such a thing as a UHD-BDROM drive. It would probably not be wo...

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
As many of you have noticed, Pioneer released a mass firmware update for almost all drives. The firmware date is around December 2022 and release date is around February 2023. The sole purpose of this update is to disable LibreDrive and unofficial firmware flashing tools such as DVRtool. This will ...

Re: Dump Submitted Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 4K
Is there a way to have MakeMKV force an update of the keydb? I got my copy of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice today too, but makemkv isn't recognizing it for me. The recommended way to update KEYDB is to use "findvuk synchronize", where findvuk.exe is a Windows executable that also runs on wineco...

Which version/release is this for? I bought this movie on 4K blu-ray years ago and was already able to rip it with MakeMKV.

Re: Recommendation for best (most reliable and versatile) LibreDrive for 2024?
I recently noticed the Amazon page for the Pioneer BDR-212V where I bought mine says there's only 5 left in stock now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R89FN61?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 It seems these drives are popular - and probably good reason. I bought one and tried a couple 4K rips...
