I'm having this exact problem. I'm actually really happy to see this post as I was beginning to think it was just me. I haven't tried downgrading yet, but I've been meaning to give that a try. I just wasn't sure if it would even work as I'm seeing numerous posts saying that 1.8.11 is too old to run....
