Re: Latest version of MakeMKV won't open Blu-Ray disc
To add insult to injury I just pulled another old LG GGC H20L off the shelf and installed it in my good computer and MakeMKV loaded a disc immediately and started the rip. This is an OLD HDDVD/BR combo drive. It may not be fast but at least it works with 1.18.2. I bought that LG WH14NS40 about a yea...

Re: Latest version of MakeMKV won't open Blu-Ray disc
Well, now I have no Blu-Ray drive in this computer. I flashed my LG WH14NS40 to the firmware to enable libredrive since it is on the list compatible with this "wonderful new change to MakeMKV we couldn't live without" that rendered the drive useless in MakeMKV but it still worked fine in W...

Re: Latest version of MakeMKV won't open Blu-Ray disc
Thanks you, but I don't have an Pioneer drive. I have an LG drive that I bought earlier this year and it has worked flawlessly until now.

Re: Latest version of MakeMKV won't open Blu-Ray disc
It won't download the SDF file and if you download it manually it just locks up the program and deletes the BIN file which results in the program being in a perpetual state of "opening" but just sits there and does nothing.

Re: Latest version of MakeMKV won't open Blu-Ray disc
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Blu-Ray drive and then I noticed MakeMKV reports:
Automatic SDF is disabled or failed.
I have no idea what this is but it seems to be something important.

Re: Latest version of MakeMKV won't open Blu-Ray disc
UPDATE: I stepped back to 1.18.1 and the problem persists so I guess something is amiss in Windows 11 which is one of the worst OSes ever for breaking things.

Latest version of MakeMKV won't open Blu-Ray disc
I have not been ripping any discs lately so when I needed to rip a DVD a couple months ago MakeMKV reported my version was too old and I needed to install the latest version, which I did. I ripped the DVD I needed to and then didn't need it again until today when some new Blu-Rays showed up in the m...

Re: MakeMKV fails to convert DVD, but how did I do this??
Really? No one can tell me what I did....because it looks like if you want just the movie you don't even need MakeMKV but I don't see how. I guess I will have to try and recreate it with another disc to see what happens. But...MakeMKV would not under any circumstances after many tries make a copy of...

MakeMKV fails to convert DVD, but how did I do this??
I have a DVD that MakeMKV would look like it worked but then said all 3 files failed. There are 3 movies on this disk. I was able to get the DVD copied to the hard drive and I have a VIDEO_TS folder with the contents. I tried to use MakeMKV on the files from the hard drive and it failed. I tried DVD...

Which LG drive to buy?
I have a choice between the WH16NS40 or WH14NS40. I don't really care about 4K and I am not spending a small fortune on a drive just because. I just need another ripping drive since my very old extra BD drive bit the dust the other day.

Blu-Rays ripped with MakeMKV produce extra video stream when encoded to HEVC
I cannot identify what is causing this and I am not suggesting that MakeMKV is the cause but since my Blu-Rays start out as rips from MakeMKV I figured I would ask here. I use FFmpeg Batch AV Converter to encode all my rips to HEVC. Something I noticed several years ago when I ripped a few Blu-Rays ...

Why is "_t00" added to each file name?

Cannot run Inverse Telecine de-interlacing on MakeMKV DVD rips
I have had a lot of trouble with ffmpeg encoded DVD rips with stuttering and jerky playback at times when rapid motion is involved. Then I found out that this is because many DVDs use 3:3 pulldown for interacing and simply running a deinterlacer like yadif or bwdif do not properly handle the deinter...
