Re: MakeMKV fails to convert DVD, but how did I do this??
Really? No one can tell me what I did....because it looks like if you want just the movie you don't even need MakeMKV but I don't see how. I guess I will have to try and recreate it with another disc to see what happens. But...MakeMKV would not under any circumstances after many tries make a copy of...

MakeMKV fails to convert DVD, but how did I do this??
I have a DVD that MakeMKV would look like it worked but then said all 3 files failed. There are 3 movies on this disk. I was able to get the DVD copied to the hard drive and I have a VIDEO_TS folder with the contents. I tried to use MakeMKV on the files from the hard drive and it failed. I tried DVD...

Which LG drive to buy?
I have a choice between the WH16NS40 or WH14NS40. I don't really care about 4K and I am not spending a small fortune on a drive just because. I just need another ripping drive since my very old extra BD drive bit the dust the other day.

Blu-Rays ripped with MakeMKV produce extra video stream when encoded to HEVC
I cannot identify what is causing this and I am not suggesting that MakeMKV is the cause but since my Blu-Rays start out as rips from MakeMKV I figured I would ask here. I use FFmpeg Batch AV Converter to encode all my rips to HEVC. Something I noticed several years ago when I ripped a few Blu-Rays ...

Cannot run Inverse Telecine de-interlacing on MakeMKV DVD rips
I have had a lot of trouble with ffmpeg encoded DVD rips with stuttering and jerky playback at times when rapid motion is involved. Then I found out that this is because many DVDs use 3:3 pulldown for interacing and simply running a deinterlacer like yadif or bwdif do not properly handle the deinter...
