I have not, yet. And I may have misstated the age of the drive. The whole computer is only about 2 months old, including this blu-ray drive (which came with the computer). I may still clean it though. If I do I'll report back.

For the record, in case anyone comes here after searching for a similar error: I was at Fry's and decided to look around to see if they had some uber-disc cleaning solution. I should add that this error appears to lock my drive entirely -- it will not work at all until reboot.
