Re: Help on rip of DV UHD into MKV (without any compression)
Use DoVi Tools to convert profile 7 to profile 8 and get rid of the Enhancement Layer as there is no TV that can handle 12 bit video. This process results in a video track with HDR10 Base Layer + RPU. Fire TV and Shiels TV can playback this with DV or HDR depending on the user's preference and hardw...

Re: Brand New to MakeMKV and Ripping UHD
I think HDR is very much overestimated due to the limitations of todays TVs. The moment a TV can reproduce the 1000 nits most movies max out there will be no need for static or dynamic adaption of the frame/movie brightness/contrast anymore. The only sense in DV then will be the FEL upgrading an ima...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Thanks vor the link. However it doesn't answer the question what exactly is stored in an RPU and how an RPU gets changed when you convert from FEL to MEL or convert FEL to profile 8.1. The reason for my interest is this: I plan to rip BL+FEL+RPU double track dual layer from BD, then extract BL and E...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@anyone who know something :-) I just don't get it. What is an RPU? And why is an MEL needed when there is no information in it? Why is an RPU needed when you have an FEL? What happens with an FEL when you use yusescope's tool and convert FEL to MEL? Is the information lost? Is it somehow added to t...

Re: Indiana Jones
Did a full backup of the discs without any problems. However after re-encoding the main movie with the help of RipBot264 and re-injecting the HEVC file into the m2ts via tsMuxer I get "AV sync issues" of the secondary stream (the DV stream) when creating an MKV of the main movie. It's on a...
