Check the top directory (folder), it should read "MK" firmware, so all those firmware .bin's will be "MK" (patched) variants. I literally JUST did this yesterday on my 16NS40, which was also 1.05. Used SDFtool, clicked "enc" box, and went straight to 1.03mk, worked flaw...

I can attest to the fact that the BU40N is more reliable. Out of the last 30 or so dual layer BD discs I ripped, there were 5 or 6 that my 16NS60 would completely fail on, and mind you these discs were spotless and straight out of their, new, retail packaging. if I didn't have the BU40N, I would hav...

I'll leave the speed control settings empty from now on, and just hope for the best. I ended up buying a Vantec case for this full-size drive, fingers crossed I get it to work reliably. I flashed my 16NS40 with NS60 firmware. I didn't need the UHD playback and it was $40 cheaper than the broken NS60...

I'm on my second one, decided on an NS40 this time; less pungent smell on this one, doesn't immediately burn my eyes, nose, and lips, when I'm near it, like the NS60.
