Damn. Wish I'd seen the Disc Rot thing before I paid $200 for a pioneer player. Oh well.
I've inquired with Warner about getting replacements. Not holding out much hope.

Re: Trouble archiving DVDs with Archgon BU40N drive and 1.0 firmware
Just for grins I tried again after moving the Drive to 2 other USB 3.1 ports on my PC. Still no dice. MakeMKV v1.18.1 win(x64-release) started Using LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=64754CF46FCA) Using direct disc access mode Calculated BUP offset for VTS #1 does not match one in IFO header. Error 'Scsi er...

Re: Trouble archiving DVDs with Archgon BU40N drive and 1.0 firmware
Thank you. I will try that!
[edit]
Actually, I'm connected directly to my PC. I did try my Anker USB hub first. It's 60W USB 3.0.

That didn't work any better or worse than the usb ports on the PC

Trouble archiving DVDs with Archgon BU40N drive and 1.0 firmware
Hey all you smart people, I've been pretty successful archiving my old DVD collection using my Archgon BD-RE BU40N drive model MD-8107-U3 with the MT1959 platform and 1.00 firmware. Recently I got to my Looney Tunes Golden Collection sets and man oh man they've been a fickle bunch of discs. I've man...

Re: Blu-ray Backup works, but how can I write the backup to disc with no region code?
A simpler approach is really to write to MKV files, ignore the menus, and give your aunt a media player that can read something other than BDs. MKV files do not have region coding. Thanks. Sadly she struggles with technology so anything new (like playing from an MKV) is just too much for her. Frank...

Blu-ray Backup works, but how can I write the backup to disc with no region code?
I found one of my aunt's favorite old movies but it was only available as a Region B Blu-ray. I figured I would rip it and write it as a region-free disc for her, but it's proving harder than I thought. My MakeMKV backup worked fine, but I can't figure out how to write that backup to a disc without ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2021
No, the 1.00 firmware is not in the MK folder as it is the original, downgrade-enabled firmware. I've flashed heaps of these Archgon's and they all have come with 1.01. This means they can be flashed directly to DE_LG_BU40N_1.00. You can find the firmware in my DE Firmware Pack here: https://forum....

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2021
Hi all, I've just bought the Archgon drive. I understand it is a renamed LG BU40N drive. I also understand I can use the built-in MakeMKV flasher from the command line (or via the GUI) to downgrade the Firmware to 1.00. My confusion comes from the labeling of the firmwares. In the MKV firmware pack ...
