There is an issue when MakeMKV tries to interleave the BL and EL hevc streams for these "Lionsgate 2298 frame RPU" discs. With info from chalaheadchala's posts, I am using this work around for the time being:
1. Use MakeMKV to backup the disc Decrypted
2. Use ffmpeg, dovi_tool, and mkvmerge to ...

Yup it's hosed!!

Billy means a cleaning of the laser lens. Use a CD cleaning disc. If it doesn't work your BD laser is dead and you need a replacement drive.

I was ripping my 8 part Harry Potter 4K discs this morning, did 6 w/o problem. Popped the 7th one in and after spinning it up, MakeMKV shows "no disk". Figured maybe the disk was bad (just opened the package), so tried disk 8 - same issue... Went back and tried Disc 6 - same "no disk" and then again ...

The Rip was done this morning (w/ 1.16. xx). The only Plex Client I haven't tried yet is the PC (client w/ server) - that requires re-cabling . BluRay doesn't support MKV's (via Plex as a media server).
