Re: Have encrypted backup and Discattd.dat, can't open files
the files I created with the disc doing a full backup in makemkv but having "encrypt files" unchecked. Your lengthy descriptions are muddled up. There is a "decrypt" option to check or uncheck, not an "encrypt" option. Throughout your messages you are mixing up "e...

Re: Recovering from read errors in Linux
I may have figured out the settings that the user "MrVanx" was using to recover the difficult blu-ray with DDRescue-GUI. And I still do not understand why that worked, since I would expect no difference from using ddrescue via commandline. DDRescue-GUI manual: https://www.hamishmb.com/file...

I copied the same BD on computer #2 and could play that copy on computer #2. The two copies, on two separate...

Two computers, different copies, incompatible playback
I backed up a Blu-ray disc on a Windows 7 32-bit machine with an external optical drive and external hard drive, using MakeMKV 1.16.3. I was able to play the resulting copy of the video using Media Player Classic. Resulting directory structure: AACS BDMV CERTIFICATE discatt.dat With the external har...
