Re: Verbatim 43888 and 43889
I read the whole thread and still not sure. With current stock is there any difference between 43888 and 43889? Should I pick one over the other? I can get both at the same price from the same reputable seller. Thanks These days, both are usually a BU40N drive inside so the only difference is that ...

Brand new BU40N shipped from China good or bad idea?
Hi All, I am looking at various drives for UHD ripping and these CN based sellers offer great prices on ebay but I wonder what is the experience? Are they selling genuine drives etc.? Another one - since it is a slim internal SATA drive - would it work work with SATA to USB kit left over from HDD sh...

Re: Will running MakeMKV as docker container on RPi 5 slow down ripping speed / time using single or two BD drives?
Actually after doing calculations 12W more (estimated for my use case, where 18W more is the max) for N100 equates to about 32 euro per year more in electricity cost where I live. That makes a difference as over few years CM5 cost of hardware goes to zero vs more power hungry N100 and as I don't rea...

Re: Will running MakeMKV as docker container on RPi 5 slow down ripping speed / time using single or two BD drives?
... CM5 has less power consumption and less heat .... It's worth noting to readers that what makes that statement true is 5 watts in power, however if you choose active cooling the same fans/coolers can be used with a N100 at the same effective cooling measurement. For saving 5W with a RPI5 over a ...

Re: Will running MakeMKV as docker container on RPi 5 slow down ripping speed / time using single or two BD drives?
I ordered some weeks ago CM5/16gb. Once it arrives I will let you guys know how it handles two copies of MakeMKV. It can likely handle 128+ instances of makemkv as the bottleneck is USB. I've ripped 5 UHD discs simultaneously on a N100 CPU, but I did breakout the PCIe M.2 x4 to a USB 3.0 controller...

Re: Will running MakeMKV as docker container on RPi 5 slow down ripping speed / time using single or two BD drives?
I like what I hear but do you have any real life experience of it?
ARM CPU in RPi is not too great with single thread performance and that is what gets hammered with MakeMKV ripping. So to achieve max speed of BD drive you need certain processing power to handle IO etc.

Hi All, As per title of the thread: Will running MakeMKV as docker container on RPi 5 slow down ripping speed / time using single or two BD drives? Currently I am ripping using two BD drives in parallel on my 6700k and also on my Synology via docker container and both take about the same time when t...

Re: Default output file name template
Would it be possible to add variable that uses file name as name for the output file name? So as I have ripped some discs to ISO before and now I would like to have them in MKV I use these ISOs as a source for MakeMKV but as most don/t correctly populate name of the output file I would like to use n...

Ok, thank you for confirming as my disc is spotless so it is not dirt on it that causes problems.
I wonder if we can flag it to MakeMKV team to get it resolved somehow.

Will try cleaning it and report back. Any specific ways to do it or just gentle wipe with a dry lint free cloth?

MakeMKV will not load / open Kraftwerk 12345678 3-D BD disc
Hi All, I am wondering if there is anything that can be done. I have two (different) drives here and neither plays the ball with the disc (one is BU40N and other is something else, cannot remember. Both have libra FW BU40N is 1.3 and other is 1.2). Is it matter of luck with finding drive that would ...
