Re: My favourite 5 video tools
Excuse me for my ignorance, but where would you use that for? What kind of information can it provide on an mkv file that ctrl-j in vlc cannot? What about those of us that don't use/like VLC? No idea of its Ctrl-J output but Mediainfo is a superb tool, even more so when added to the Windows right-c...

Re: GetMPLS - An Application to help find the correct playlist for BD / UHD
This is what I get. It's a list of hundreds of playlists. Not sure how to screenshot them all, or if there's a way to grab the data itself in a log. https://i.ibb.co/QppQVrP/Screenshot-2024-07-01-205811.png As @MartyMcNuts posted, typical of Lionsgate playlist obfuscation. If GetMPLS hasn't worked ...

Re: My favourite 5 video tools
Do you actually use all that stuff? Yes because I rip and encode, don't store any Remuxes as they would eat my hard drives given time. Use MKVToolNix a lot and SubtitleEdit to OCR .sup (PGS) to .srt and spell check, never had a problem with SubtitleEdit. Yes have used MKVToolNix to cut samples but ...

Re: My favourite 5 video tools
OS - Windows 10 LTSC: For anyone into ripping/encoding MKVtoolNix is pretty much an essential. Inviska MKV Extract (although discontinued) is my preferred one of several similar tools for extracting mkv streams - a GUI front end for mkvextrect.exe (part of MKVToolNix package). SubtitleEdit is likewi...

Re: newbie to makemkv with weird errors
so unfortunately when i post or reply, i have to wait for the board admin to approve my post... My apologies, I hadn't considered that. Hopefully you'll soon be past the stage where new posts require admin/mod approval. Edit: I see you've fixed it with clickable thumbnails in a new post . Good job.

you can see each step I took as well as the errors I got... Unfortunately no one can see as you inserted the image page url's not the image url. Perhaps some ppl may see a post like that and just click out of the thread. After the effort of grabbing screenshots, naming the files, and uploading them...

GUI's, note that all require MKVToolNix installed, all are front ends for mkvextract. ccMKVExtractGUI gMKVExtractGUI MKVcleaver MKVExtractGUI-2 Personal favourite is Inviska MKV Extract, no longer developed but a great tool, use it endlessly. Inviska MKV Extract https://i.imgur.com/UW4KjSx.png

Struggling with Sicario 2: Soldado? [RESOLVED]
RESOLVED: Struggled with this one. Solution in Edit 3 at end of this post. Ripped hundreds of BluRays and approx 120 UHD's, coped with Lionsgate playlist obfuscation etc but this one has me beat! Ripped the UHD fine but struggling with the BluRay. Searched the forum and saw several posts about it a...

Setting date back a month (to April) prior to starting MakeMKV doesn't work on MacOS? Works fine in Win 10 (LTSC).StuggiBear wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 10:03 amI guess still no news on the new beta-key? I already have the latest version of MakeMKV for macOS and I now cannot use it without a new key for May 2024.

Forum Is Still Extremely Slow
Didn't know where else to post this. Mods plz move it if not appropriate here. I'm guessing there is some known problem with the forum over last few days - the last week? It's been very slow and difficult to get here. Similarly, links in mail notifications take an age to get here, multiple fails and...

Re: Way to see which subtitle track is "forced" before remuxing
Still find it difficult to see where any difficulty arises here. Have just ripped District 9, UHD and BR, in the UHD the forced subs are hardcoded. As outlined in my previous post I found that out by extracting sub streams from the rip and running them through BDSup2Sub, and seeing nothing flagged a...
