Re: Making a protected backup?
Right, but following the originally linked thread further: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=21014&sid=696f9f51c7bcc0db106ba494c3b9942b&start=90#p82173 It sounds like anyone having submitted the AACS information from the original disc key would provide the key necessary ...

Re: MakeMKV drops non-empty audio tracks?
Thanks for the response. It sounds this is just part of how MakeMKV views the world. Converting a VOB (or m2ts) to mkv via ffmpeg preserves all the tracks in the underlying stream, so I wasn't sure if it was intentional behavior by MakeMKV. I do wish MakeMKV would at least list all the audio tracks,...

Re: Making a protected backup?
I've tried it with dozens of protected ISO disc images.
MakeMKV claims it doesn't have the necessary key for the ISO, but if I insert the physical disc, it does until I quit. Without an internet connection.
This is still happening in 1.16.0.

Re: MakeMKV drops non-empty audio tracks?
By way of update, this loss of audio tracks also happens on 1.16.0.

MakeMKV drops non-empty audio tracks?
I have a DVD that seems to use the Blu-Ray strategy of using different titles to select alternate audio tracks in the same underlying video stream. As a result, MakeMKV exports each title with only a single audio track, rather than all the audio tracks originally present in the video stream. Expandi...

Re: MakeMKV misses a title?
I just noticed in the FAQ that missing extras is "a somewhat common issue" and that opening the DVD manually is indeed the recommended solution. So that leaves the remaining "bug" in MakeMKV: even when I open the disc manually and select the title, the exported MKV is empty. @Eza...

Re: Making a protected backup?
How did you create your backup? It sounds like you did a disc backup within MakeMKV? I created a protected ISO outside of MakeMKV (see the linked thread in the original post), since MakeMKV doesn't offer that functionality. If we're both having this issue, using very different backup mechanisms, may...

Re: MakeMKV misses a title?
I'm not talking about titles skipped due to duration: I lowered that to 0 to make sure that wasn't the problem. This title doesn't show up in the log at all, even as fake. As I said at the outset, my minimum is zero, so unless it's reporting a negative duration, it's not that. For what it's worth, ...

MakeMKV misses a title?
I have a DVD that has a "stills gallery" special feature. It's the last title on the disc, with 50 chapters. But MakeMKV doesn't see it. (VLC and HandBrake both do.) I'm not talking about titles skipped due to duration: I lowered that to 0 to make sure that wasn't the problem. This title d...

Re: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map
You can use the following from Terminal: BD_DEBUG_MASK=0x40 /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC 2>&1 | grep mpls That will print every time a playlist is chosen via the menus. Now I just have to figure out how to to get MakeMKV to show all the mpls on a disc. For some reason it's dropping a...

Making a protected backup?
From following this thread, it sounds like MakeMKV should be able to read a protected ISO, so long as bus encryption has been removed: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=21014&start=60 Is that only for UHD? I tried opening a protected Blu-Ray ISO I previously made, and MakeMK...
